So Weird was a television series which first aired in January of 1999 and last aired in September of 2001 on Disney Channel. It is best described as a version of The X-Files for children and teens. The series focuses on Molly Phillips (Mackenzie Phillips), a former rock 'n' roll star who abandoned her career after the death of her husband. Eleven years later, she revives her career and travels with her son Jack (Patrick Levis) and her daugher Fiona throughout the USA, playing with a new band.

Fiona "Fi" (Cara DeLizia), was very interested in paranormal phenomena, which she seemed to attract. The show's first two season were decidedly dark for a Disney show, following Fiona and her family around the country as she investigated various supernatural occurrances ranging from Bigfoot, to Ghosts, to Aliens. Fiona's primary motivation was discovering who or what from the realm of the supernatural had caused the death of her father. The search culminated in a confrontation between Fi and the forces of darkness in the Season 2 finale.

For the third season, Fiona's search was deemed complete, and moved to Seattle to live with her aunt. In said move, a new main character, Annie Thelen (Alexz Johnson), was introduced to take Fiona's place. Annie shared, to a lesser degree, Fiona's affinity for the occult, however in more of a by-chance format with a panther spirit guide. The third season also took on a lighter tone and incorported more music into episodes. Continuing with the music theme, Annie also possessed a wonderful singing voice, which Disney originally planned to promote its record label, however those plans never came to fruitation.

Despite the series' success, it was cancelled by Disney on its 65th episode (the end of its third season), which is standard practice for Disney Channel's original series. Reruns were shown late at night for some time after the show's cancellation.

The show was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia.
