Jon Brower Minnoch (1941-1983) was the heaviest man ever. At his peak weight, he was around 100 stone (1400 lb, 635 kg). This figure was only calculated though due to the fact that he was too heavy and in such a bad condition to be able to be weighed.
He suffered from obesity since he was a child. At the age of 12, he weighed 28 stone (392.4 lb, 178 kg) and was 6 ft 1 in (6.06 ft., 1.85 m). His weight grew and grew until he was hospitalized in March 1978. He had accumalated too much water which caused congestive heart failure.
It took a dozen firemen and a specially modified stretcher to get him to the hospital. He was then put on two beds pushed together and it took 13 people to roll him over.
He was discharged from the hospital after two years on a diet. He weighed 34 stone (476.19 lb, 216 kg). The greatest weight loss by any human. However, he was readmitted to the hospital, a year later because he had doubled his weight to 68 stone (952.3 lb, 432 kg). He died on September 10th, 1983 at a weight of 57 stone ( 798.07 lb, 362 kg).
