"'''A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving'''" is the ninth episode of the third season of the television series '']''. It originally aired on ], ].

==Plot==
{{Plot|section|date=November 2007}}
Having carefully avoiding her parents for two weeks since the ] incident, ] is ambushed by ] in the Inn's kitchen. Emily went there to invite them (both Lorelai and ]) for Thanksgiving dinner, warning that she will accept no excuses unless Lorelai's doctor were to appear in person and convince Emily that Lorelai is genuinely sick.
Lorelai and Rory now have four dinners to juggle, having already committed to Mrs Kim, Sookie and Luke.

], anxious as usual to pad her Harvard application with good works, is frantic when none of the soup kitchens have room for another volunteer this year.

Kirk acquires a cat and names it Kirk, since "whenever I call Kirk's name I obviously won't be calling myself."

On Thanksgiving morning, while Rory is buying flowers, ] sneaks up and kisses her, but Rory isn't ready to kiss Jess openly, particularly in front of Doose's; not only it would hurt Dean's feelings, but the town people would find it strange, being used to see her and Dean together. Jess, although not wanting to leave it a secret, agrees not to kiss her to much in public. He gives her a little peck and goes off somewhere.

While buying cranberry sauce and chocolate turkeys at Doose's market, Lorelai finds Human Kirk buying antiseptic for wounds inflicted by Cat Kirk.
She also tells ] that she still sees him as a friend despite his split with Rory.

At the Kim dinner they are surprised to see ], ]'s secret bandmate and crush, playing hymns on his guitar. Lane explains that she put up a fake flyer at church for a Christian musician named Dave Rygalski, then "found" it and got her mother to hire him for the occasion. Lorelai's scheme to dump her share of ] is foiled by Mrs Kim's watchful eye; she leaves feeling a bit queasy.

Next they find ] looking glum.
She had agreed to let ] cook the turkey, without knowing that he intended to ] it.
Leaving Sookie to drown her horror in beer, Lorelai and Rory proceed to Luke's.
Human Kirk is now scratched over 60% of his body.
Jess gives Rory a subdued kiss, which both Lorelai and Babbette criticize while he's out of earshot; otherwise this dinner proceeds without incident.

Finally it's the grandparents' turn. Two couples are visiting: Natalie, whom Lorelai had met at the auction, and her husband Douglas; and a French couple, Monique (who speaks no English) and Claude.
Richard says he's always glad to have an opportunity to practice his rusty French. Natalie raises the subject of college applications, and asks Rory what are her "backups" in case she is not accepted at ]; Rory is embarrassed because she hasn't yet mentioned to her mother that she has made any backup applications, let alone that one of them is Yale. Lorelai again accuses her parents of manipulating Rory and goes outside to cool off. Emily follows and asks whether she hates them so much that she cannot let Rory have even a little piece of their lives, even by her own choice.

When the Kim party winds down, Lane, under cover of returning Dave's "forgotten" Bible, follows him outside and apologizes: she had no idea her mother would make him play hymns for five solid hours. Dave says not to worry; the flyer has already got him three other paying gigs, and Mrs. Kim gave him $20, which he intends to put aside "for our first real date." Lane can't believe that Dave still wants to date her after the ordeal – until he kisses her.
Lane sends Rory the cryptic message "BIBLE KISS BIBLE"; Rory remarks that it's a good name for a band.

Lorelai and Rory go back to Luke's for coffee. Rory catches up to Jess, as he goes out to get rid of excess trash, and gives him a more thorough kiss before following Lorelai and Luke into the coffeehouse.
But Dean was watching, and tries to goad Jess into a fight.
Jess says he's not going to fight, because Rory would blame him.
Dean makes veiled threats and leaves.

Walking home after their coffee, Lorelai and Rory pass the bandstand where Human Kirk, having been evicted by Cat Kirk, is going to sleep on a bench.
