| I can see the dichotomy of wishing to "kill those who kill innocent people," but can you see the broader issue that sometimes your family, your community, your country may need to be defended, and that defence may not always come down to waiting until those who would harm you march down your street or blow up your local transport. I was drafted into the military during the Vietnam War, and served well (IMO) but unwillingly nevertheless. Vietnam was the wrong war in the wrong place ay the wrong time. Yet, while I hesitate to say that we should ever be eager to fight a war, we must also realize that not every war can be avoided, and, when it comes, someone needs to fight it. -- ] | ] 7 July 2005 15:14 (UTC) | |||
