McCaul Street's streetsign with Chinese translation of the road's name.
Looking south down McCaul Street with OCAD on the right, Village by the Grange on the left, and the CN Tower in the distance.

McCaul Street is a road in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The street terminates with Queen Street West and College Street. The street was named for John McCaul, a prominent educator.

South of Dundas, the street contains the Ontario College of Art and Design, Art Gallery of Ontario and Jackman Hall, the temporary home of the Gardiner Museum Shop and School, Village by the Grange (a mixed use condominium and retail block), Department of Family & Community Medicine, and St. Patrick's Church. North of Dundas contains residential property, of which a large portion is student housing, with the University of Toronto at the north end. The stretch south of College is notable as it forms a distinct boundary between the backs of modern high-rise hospital towers facing University Avenue and close-spaced 19th century row-houses representing one of the oldest surviving neighbourhoods in the City west of Downtown.

Toronto Transit Commission streetcar tracks run down the road between College Street and Queen St. These are mostly used for short turning cars. Only a small porion of the track north of Queen Street is used in fare service on the 502 Downtowner service.
