Daniel Miguel Alves Gomes, commonly known as Danny, (born 7 August 1983, in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Portuguese football (soccer) attacking midfielder. He currently plays for FC Dynamo Moscow.
Born into a Portuguese family, Danny moved to the island of Madeira at a young age. It is here where he developed his football skills in the youth teams of CS Marítimo. Danny made his break-through into the first team at the end of the 2001/02 season, where he scored 5 goals in 20 games. He later signed for Sporting Clube de Portugal for €2.1 million but later returned to Marítimo on loan. In February 2005, he joined Russia's FC Dynamo Moscow, where he was awarded the best Dynamo player of the 2005 season.
Danny has also made numerous appearances for the Portugal U-21 and participated at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens 2004.
