The Classic Crime is a band originally from Bellingham, Washington. They now live and are based out of Seattle. They are currently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. The band consists of Matt MacDonald (vocals), Alan Clark (bass), Robbie "Cheeze" Negrin (guitar), Paul "Skip" Erickson (drums), and Justin Duque (guitar). Their debut album Albatross was released on May 23, 2006. They released an acoustic EP entitled Seattle Sessions on 6 November, 2007. According to their Myspace blog, they are working on their second full-length album, The Silver Cord, and plan to release it June 2008.

There has been discussion among many fans regarding Christianity in their songs and whether or not they are a Christian rock band. This is heightened by the fact that they are signed to the Christian record label 'Tooth and Nail', and have played at Christian rock festivals.. According to their website forum, The Classic Crime do not like to consider themselves a "Christian" band.
