Johnstown Village Green

Johnstown (Baile Sheáin in Irish) is a village in County Kilkenny in southeast midlands of Ireland, in the Diocese of Ossory. The town lies at the junction of the main N8 Dublin-Cork road and the R502 and R435 regional roads. It is the home of the Fenians hurling club. Situated 121 km from Dublin and 131 km from Cork, it lies in the agricultural heartland of the southeast.

The town is home to two schools: Coláiste Mhuire - a vocational secondary school - and St Kieran's National School.

The village of Johnstown is over 200 years old and was once part of the barony of Galmoy.
