Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Semi-protection - Page was semi-protected for a week (29Jan - 5Feb), during which period there were about 20 edits. Since 5Feb, there have been over 100 edits, over half of which look like IP vandalism or reverts of same. No idea why this page continues as an active target. Please a longer protection this time around. EdChem (talk) 07:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
BTW, I don't know if this is the place to ask, but is the debate over the German name a slow-motion edit war? full protection This is merely another name for a pyramid scheme, and I have redirected this to Pyramid scheme. But some internet "marketers" have been coming along (including creating an account) and putting an article there in place of the redirect, as somebody out there is promoting a pyramid scheme calling it the "Reverse Funnel System". There should never need to be an article here. Suggest protecting it as a redirect, in lieu of nominating it as a speedy delete with salt. Reswobslc (talk) 23:17, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

College Works Painting (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

unprotection , I cannot find any reason why this page is protected, there is nothing in the log, and it is a large company, one of the largest painting companies in the United States. There is a bunch of information about this company, they are a couple million dollar company. Why is it protected? Brett (talk) 23:18, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Question: It was SALTed as a NN company or an advert. What has changed within the last 10 months to make the company notable? Jmlk17 01:22, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
So there is no discussion on the actual page about why it was deleted, I am pretty sure that was deleted too? So I pretty much have no idea why it was determined to be non-notable, but it certainly passes the litmus test for acceptable article topics. There are 93 articles on google news written about college works painting (it is a student internship program). Also, according to Lexis, they do 14.9 million in sales annually. (I am unsure of how to cite this, since I can't link you directly to the information). Furthermore, google "college works painting," there are over 4800 results. I realize, again, that google is not a great litmus test, but without a reason to respond to as to why it was deleted, I am not sure what other evidence is needed?

unprotection, Hello, you can unprotect my first Tequila article. Relevance: This brand is being distributed in 18 states and 4 countries at least. And I know more countries are coming... It is a very good brand. And it is not an advert -I will take care of the article-.

This is a very well known brand in the Tequila forums. Please check references and un-protect it. Suggestions are welcomed.

Also, you can check: This review from Tequila.net

You can see the draft article in my user page. Thanks in advance!

P.S.: I'm not getting a single reply to this request. I've been doing a quick research in order to find what could be wrong in my resquest... But everything semms to be ok. Please unlock the page, and make any suggestion you might have. Thank you. Ubzy (talk) 19:23, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

It should not be protected. I wanted to add references, not from nationalist point of view, neither from unreliable sources. I wanted to add references from Thucydides and Plutarch, tow Greek, ancient historians, with the external links, to their works. Isn`t that normal?

    Prem Rawat (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full protection - edit war between two editors over last few days. Could others look at the conduct here and decide if protection would help? ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 20:38, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, no, there aren't two editors edit-warring. There is *one* disruptive editor listed for the third time in few days at WP:AN3: see WP:AN3#User:Momento reported by User:Francis Schonken (Result: ).
Jossi has comitted not to edit the Prem Rawat article any more, and with all respect I can appreciate that is frustrating for him when the article content doesn't go his preferred way. But trying to hinder others who edit constructively, follow talk page threads where they are contributing to them constructively, and who are nowhere near 3RR, is not very constructive. --Francis Schonken (talk) 22:53, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
That was not nice, Francis. I have asked both you and Momento to try and find common ground, instead of reverting each other. But it seems that my suggestion was not heard by you or by Momento. That is why I asked an uninvolved admin to look and see if full protection would help. You and Momento may disagree with me on this, you may think that you are not edit-warring, and I understand that, so that is why I am asking an uninvolved person to take a look. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 22:58, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Singling me out as a counterpart of Momento is still mildly disruptive, to say the least. --Francis Schonken (talk) 23:45, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Contrary to Francis Schonken's assertion I haven't been mentioned for 3RR three times in a few days. The major issue (as reported on 3RR) is between me and onefinalstep. onefinalstep keeps adding a very distorted summary of Hunt to the Rawat article that is clearly a breach of BLP policy and I keep removing it as per BLP policy. Hunt says "Leaving his more ascetic life behind him, he does not personally eschews material possessions. Over time, critics have focused on what appears to be his opulent lifestyle and argue that it is supported largely by the donations of his followers." onefinalstep interprets this as "Rawat also turned away from asceticism, and no longer denounced material possessions. He began to enjoy what appeared to be a material life; a transfomation funded in part by donations from followers". Hunt doesn't say Rawat "denounced material possessions" and he doesn't say "He began to enjoy what appeared to be a material life; a transfomation funded in part by donations from followers". Hunt doesn't offer an opinion he is saying what "critics argue".onefinalstep's interpretation grossly distorts Hunt and since this is a BLP it is important that we "get it right". BLP policy is clear - Editors should remove any contentious material about living persons that is unsourced, relies upon sources that do not meet standards specified in Misplaced Pages:Verifiability, or is a conjectural interpretation of a source (see Misplaced Pages:No original research). The three-revert rule does not apply to such removals. Content may be re-inserted only if it conforms to this policy". In the end I inserted Hunt's quote verbatim to try to stop this blatant BLP violating distortion but that was soon reverted by onefinalstep. Momento (talk) 00:09, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Momento you were reported at WP:AN3,
Note that the semi-protection of the Prem Rawat article has expired a few hours ago. By me that's fine. --Francis Schonken (talk) 08:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

I am not involved in the dispute between CieloEstrellado and User:Eliko. My edits to that article were unrelated to their ongoing dispute, as the diffs will show. My first edits to that article were to clean up flag template usage and other MOS issues, when I discovered that these other two editors have mostly been blind reverting each other over the past few weeks. After a warning was placed on both users talk pages, they both subsequently made blind revert edits. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 21:32, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
You still made edits to the page before protecting it. This makes you an active party in the dispute and therefore disqualifies you. ☆ CieloEstrellado 21:36, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Unprotected per agreement between the two editors on my talk page. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 23:33, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
