Geert Wilders is said to publish a movie on the Koran in early 2008, titled Fitna. It is unclear who will broadcast the item, but Wilders will also put a copy on the internet site Youtube. The Dutch government has already made evacuation plans for Dutch embassies abroad in the case the planned movie would lead to mob violence. Wilders has said the movie will elaborate on "verses from the Koran" accompanied by "documentary footage".

Egypt is closely monitoring the situation. In February 2008 Pakistani regulators banned YouTube for several days due to a "blasphemous" video clip believed to be a trailer for Fitna. According to Google, the ban was lifted after the offending material had been removed.
