There is a 100+ student choir, a division 1 band, and a division 1 orchestra. This year, both the 8th grade band and orchestra achieved the high distinction of getting all 1's at the regional MSBOA festivals. By getting 1's they are elligable to compete at the state level at state festival. A friendly rivalry exists between the band and the orchestra, one side bragging about its accomplishments to the other side, and making a case that they are the better group and trying to outdo the other. Kinawa Middle School (KMS) is a public middle school for students, 6th to 8th grade. It is located in Okemos, Michigan on Kinawa Drive.

Music

There is a 100+ student choir, a division 1 band, and a division 1 orchestra.
