Hi Dekisugi - I noticed your message on User talk:Bubsisbubs. Can I ask you to reconsider using such messages? Similar templates have been deleted in the past (see this discussion for the views expressed in the past). It might encourage someone to go out in a "blaze of glory" before being blocked, for example. Regards, Bencherlite 11:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Recent reversion
Hi Dekisugi. I used Misplaced Pages recently to look up the word 'dross' which I thought meant 'worthless'. I learnt about its other meanings (scum on the surface of molten metal etc.) but there was no mention of 'worthless' or similar definition. I checked in my home dictionary and found that it could mean 'rubbish', 'refuse' and 'something that has little or no value'. I decided to add that to the Misplaced Pages definition. I am new to this but I thought that I could improve the entry a little. I now see that my addition has been branded as 'vandalism' and has been removed. I may have made a mistake here but my intention was not to cause vandalism. Is this because I used the word 'rubbish' in my definition because if so then I don't think that I deserve to have 'vandalism' posted against my name. Can anything be done about this? I hope that you can help. Doctormartyn (talk) 16:43, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Doctor Who fandom
Hey, I noticed you contributed to the Doctor Who fandom article. I was wondering, because of that, if you might be willing to help edit the page on Fan History about the Doctor Who fandom? Fan History's entry is intended to be a bit more comprehensive and all encompassing as Fan History is a wiki dedicated to documenting and preserving as much fandom history as it can. The Doctor Who article could really use some one familiar with wiki editing and Doctor Who fandom knowledge to make it better. :) If you can help, it would very much be appreciated. --FanHistory (talk) 22:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, i got a message from you about the mos def conspiracy category, according to the category page, people who espouse views listed in Conpiracy Theories are to be place in this category. Mos def has claimed the moon landings are a hoax, so he clearly belongs.

I removed every link and everything about mug machine. I just explained how to print on mug from your home. How could this be advertisement? --Simon Lirzin (talk) 17:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
So how can I do to write an article about printing on mugs from your home without you thinking it is an ad? --Simon Lirzin (talk) 18:13, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
While I recognize your importance on a site like this, I think it may have gone to your head.
I noticed you reverted my changes, saying they were "like ads, US-Centric, and UnEncyclopedic." Not that I think a person like you would care, I think you have not thought through your comment very well. The whole world has mailboxes, and I noticed that the page currently only spoke of European regulations, so I added some US regulations. Should I have added regulations for all the other countries as well? Maybe, but I am an American, I only know US regulations. UnEncyclopedic? WOW. You've probably read every public page of Misplaced Pages, so I'm sure you've seen it all, for those of us who haven't, but want to make a valuable contribution to this community, there's bound to be a learning curve. We can't all match your apparently high standards for the quality of the material that should be allowed to be posted. Some of us are just regular folks who may have worthwhile things to say and be heard. And lastly, "Like Ads"? I can only assume this is because I cited a reference to another informational site where I found some of my information because there were no other citations and because of the link to the oldest online store and manufacturer of mailboxes we could find. You may have noticed that was in the history section. I thoroughly disagree that this was "Ad-Like" or in any way was intended as a promotion of those businesses, however I did edit the content somewhat as a result of your comment, and would appreciate any recommendations you have. I've looked all over for more than an hour and can't find any other references to mailbox manufacturing or sales that indicate who were the first individuals or companies to begin mass producing mailboxes or selling them to the general public. If you know of any, I'd love hear about them.
Normally I try to be very cordial the first opportunity I have to communicate with someone new, but I've read your talk page and you come accross more like an egotistical, pompous, self-proclaimed protector of Misplaced Pages who is judge, jury, and executioner without the slighest regard for any human element. I feel that if you had taken my additions in context and given some thought to the whole content of the page like I had, I'll bet you would have at the very least not called it "US-Centric".
On a more positive note, having over a million pages of websites myself, most of which allow for user feedback of various kinds, I can certainly appreciate having someone with a very strict interpretation of what is and is not allowed. If I had an employee like you I'd make you a two man team with someone who is more able to relate to people and think about how us humans really work. You're on one end of a very big spectrum. While I appreciate your work, I'd like you to think some about the quality of it before you continue. We certainly need people like you, but maybe without the (perceived) apparent disregard for others. You can do better, just give it some thought before you go slashing at what people have worked hard at contributing.
I should also state, that I will be working more on the page. I do NOT want to get into an edit war with you, and would LOVE to hear any suggestions about how we could improve the page or where I could find more information for the page. You may have gathered, I work in mailboxes, I'll work very hard to make sure that I add valuable content that conforms to Wiki's guidelines, and have zero interest in being the kind of person you have anything against. I'm new to Misplaced Pages, and would love to have some help from someone as obviously experienced as you are. I will even go so far as to say I may have misjudged you, and if that turns out to be the case I'll gladly apologize.
Thanks, Mike (talk) 02:08, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
wild swimming
Dekisugi - the links to wild swimming, the term used in the Uk for swimming in nature, are clearly relevant to the skinny dipping and swimming hole pages, and only add value and context to the article. Why have you deleted them? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniel.start (talk • contribs) 21:07, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
So what's the deal then?
Ok, so if you wrote the article then are you trying to keep anyone else from changing it? Are you convinced it's perfect as is? I think there's a lot of great information that could be added to it. I can understand if you feel like it's your baby. Not that big a deal. Believe me I've got better things to do than make changes only to have you revert them. The world is big enough for both of us... maybe just barely, I'm a big guy.
Now the comment on Wiki not being a manual, I understand, (and appreciated, it made some of your talk page comments make more sense) but even in there, it says you can talk about a website if you "describe the site in an encyclopedic manner, offering detail on a website's achievements, impact or historical significance". Particularly online, putting in the history section that the oldest site we could find that sold mailboxes online was that site? Or that the oldest manufacturer of mailboxes we could find was that manufacturer? I realize it's not grandiose, but I think at least historically significant.
I love that you left the reference to the USPS mailbox regulations, but took out the text above it concerning them even though you've got text above that talks about European regulations. Are you British? A lot of brits think of the US as it's red-headed step child, so that would make your "US Centric" comment make sense since a few US facts, in my opinion, would make the article more well rounded, nationally speaking.

referencing new books on skinny dipping and swimming hole
Hi Dekisugi,
I notice you've arbitrarily deleted reference to my book, while leaving reference to various other external links and books, many of which are commercial enterprises. e.g.
"Day Trips with a Splash: Hiking guides to swimming holes in California, Southwest, New England, Adirondacks and Appalachians. Hundreds of trips with photos, maps and GPS."
What is the difference between this link (put up by the author too) and the link to my book?
Many of the links on 'skinny dipping' and 'swimming holes' are to commercial products (books and films) and could be called 'advertising' or 'spam'. How do you chose one book over another to delete? Is it whether the author puts them up or someone else? Is it by how long they have been published? If so then this should be part of the official content policy, no, rather than your personal opinion?
I have added the link correctly, using a reference, and have also contributed intelligently to both articles, adding additional material and improving their structure. Why have you taken a personal dislike to me and my contributions?
By what consensual and democratic process would you suggest we resolve this disagreement?
Regards
Daniel —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniel.start (talk • contribs) 10:32, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

MMR Hoax Deletion
Dear Dekisgugi
Re: the MMR Hoax redirect, I was mid-way through writing a justifaction on the discussion page. Ben Goldachre, a popular writer in the British newpaper The Guardian, refers to the MMR Controvery as the "MMR Hoax" (for example ). I thought it was worth having a redirect for people look it up on wikipedia after seeing it in newpaper articles.
