In November of 2007, the Oasis restaurant was proud to officially open its doors to its new addition. The new Oasis can sit 2000 people in its indoor rooms and outside decks. The rooms all have their own unique atmospheres and designs including: Joe's Bar, The Lodge, Horizon, Lonestar, Yacht Club, Sunset Villas, The New Starlight, Top of the Oasis, and the lower deck known as Longhorn. The Top of the Oasis is located on the third floor and is mainly used for catered events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, business meetings, etc. The restaurant is also undergoing a menu change but the views are still as wonderful and mind blowing as they have always been. As far as the old decks are concerned, the rumor was that they were going to be torn down and turned into small shops for tourist to visit when they came to The Oasis but as the weather has stared to change Beau Theriot (the owner) has stopped the demolition of the old decks and has started to rebuild them. They are now going to be used as an area for you to enjoy cocktails while you wait for your table. So if you are in the Austin area I recommend you head on out and check out the new Oasis and its incredible views! | |||

The Oasis Restaurant is a popular restaurant just outside of Austin, Texas. The restaurant promotes itself as the "Sunset Capital of Texas" with it's terraced views over Lake Travis.
The restaurant was first built in the early 1980's by Houston entrepreneur Beau Theriot, who purchased a 500-acre (2.0 km) ranch overlooking the lake and converted it into the current multi-use venue.
On the morning of June 1, 2005, a lightning strike ignited a fire which consumed much of the property. Parts of the facility that were not damaged were reopened within weeks, and other parts have had to be rebuilt.
