Smosh is a duo of college students, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox, from Carmichael, California. They attend American River College. However, they are famous for their writing, filming, acting, and editing in their own skits and "music videos". As of April 2008, they have over 312,000 subscribers on YouTube, making them the most subscribed on YouTube.

"Pokémon Theme" is Smosh's most famous video. In June 2007, the video was removed due to a copyright claim by Shogakukan. The video received more than 24,000,000 views before its removal. Some of their series are called "Smosh Shorts" and sometimes they portray TV shows. Their first video was the Power Rangers theme. Their "Smosh Short 2: Stranded" video won the 2006 YouTube Award for Best Comedy.

On April 1, 2008; Smosh had posted a video entitled "Smosh Sued for $20 Million", stating the creators of Pokémon had sued them for a copyright infringement for the music video they created, which got removed from YouTube about a year ago. In the video, Ian and Anthony display items that are going to be sold on their website: http://www.smosh.com/buyourstuff. For a certain amount of time, if you wanted to order something, the order button would redirect to a page stating "This item cannot be purchased because it is currently in someone else's shopping cart. Please try back in 15 minutes". A couple hours later, Smosh changed the buttons to redirect to a page saying "APRIL FOOLS!", saying the entire thing was a joke.

In "Three Guys In A Hotel", for a fraction of a second "it sucked" is shown at the "canceled" screen at the end. Also, the credits show LisaNova as "himself".

Removed videos

Ian and Anthony have removed videos from either the Smosh website and Youtube account for various reasons.

"The Evil Chain Letter" was removed from the Smosh videos, because Anthony and Ian felt that the video wasn't funny enough to be kept on Smosh's website and Youtube account. The video can still be found on Youtube, released by other users.

"Garret's Blog" was a video that mocked video bloggers. Viewers mistook Garret for being a real person, so Smosh removed it from both Youtube. The video can no longer be found on the internet.

"I-Dawg announcement 'bout YT Awards" was a video released by Smosh to make people aware that they were nominees for the YouTube awards and to tell the viewer to vote for them. The video was only online for about a week, and was removed after voting was closed and Smosh had won.

"Pokémon Theme" is Smosh's most famous video. In June 2007, the video was removed due to a copyright claim by the Japanese company Shogakukan Production Co. Ltd.. The video received over 24-million views before its removal. The fan versions can still be found and the real video can be found on smosh.com.

From the time period of the video "Frankie Rogers is James Bond" to "Spiderman, Spiderman", Smosh's videos were "powered by livevideo.com". During that period, Smosh was on a contract to release two videos per month. Sixteen Smosh videos are on livevideo.com.

Smosh.com

Smosh.com began in mid-2002 as a free forum for a group of high school friends in Carmichael, California. The forum now has over 75,000 members. As an extra for smosh.com members, extra videos can be viewed, showing off bloopers and commentary from Smosh.
