Jimmy Taylor is a character on the American post-apocalyptic drama Jericho. He is played by Bob Stephenson.

Background

Jimmy Taylor is one of the few law enforcement officers left in Jericho after the pilot episode. With his partner Bill Kohler, he enforces the law in town. Throughout the series, Jimmy has patrolled with Eric Green. In Fallout, Jimmy and Bill were stuffed in the trunk of their Ford Crown Victoria police car while two escaped prisoners posed as them. Jimmy is born to Jericho and he has family in Jericho. Jimmy seems very fond of Robert Hawkins and it is not as much vice-versa. It is shown later in the series he briefly took over the position of the sheriff of Jericho. But following his injury during the battle with New Bern, he is relieved by Major Beck and Jake Green takes over the position of the sheriff of Jericho.

Activity in Episodes

The Walls of Jericho

In the fourth episode, Jimmy successfully recruits Robert Hawkins into the Jericho Sheriff's Department.

Rogue River

When Jake and Eric were in Rogue River, Jimmy and Gray Anderson questioned Robert Hawkins. While searching the Hawkins home, Jimmy found an FBI badge and ID card, which Hawkins claimed were his. In that same episode, Jimmy tells Darcy Hawkins that he has a son about the same age, comparing his son to Darcy and Robert's son Samuel.

Black Jack

In Black Jack Jimmy and Jake went to check on various towns people after a dramatic temperature drop. When Jake find the dead body of a resident Jimmy says in a soft and compassionate voice, "The temperature dropped so quickly." In the same episode, Jimmy tells Robert Hawkins that a woman was looking for him.

Winter's End

Jimmy returns several times to the Hawkins' residence to learn about the whereabouts of Sarah Mason. It is clear that his reasons for dropping by are not what he claims. Robert Hawkins tells him that she left town to "family in New Orleans". Jimmy has to accept the story when Darcy backs her husband up. Jimmy learns that Darcy and the kids have moved out of the house and offers for them to stay with his family so they do not have to live at the refugee center.

A.K.A.

In A.K.A. Jimmy tells Jake that he knows that Rob has a fake FBI badge. Later he breaks into Hawkin's house and finds a room with a draw filled with ID's from the U.S. State Department under the alias Robert Wheeler, Columbus Police Department under the alias Robert Ellis, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service under the alias Commander Robert Richmond. At the end of the episode Jimmy believes that Hawkins is an FBI agent.

Casus Belli

Jimmy finds his son Woody and Darcy's son Sam drawing pictures and Sam is drawing a monster attacking his family and it is very graphic. Jimmy later tells Darcy that he thinks that Sam is traumatized and can't speak about his feelings and is expressing himself through artwork.
