DOOM³ is a first person shooter computer game due to be released in 2004. It is being developed by id Software and will be published by Activision.

It is a remaking of the original DOOM series and will use a completely new and proprietary graphics engine.

The main new engine features of DOOM³ will be unified dynamic lighting and shadow-casting; this, combined with its support for normal mapping of all textures, results in very realistic looking enemies and environments.
