Dhanshiri is a famous river of Bangladesh. The river is a symbol of romance and love mainly introduced by great poet Jibanananda Das. The river is in Jhalkathi District of Bangladesh. Once it was full of youth but today it is being narrower day by day. The famous line of Jibanananda Das:

"Abar asibo fire Dhanshirhi-tir tiree ei Banglay"

has made the river a poetic one. The river is a tourist spot now. People from many corner come to see the river. There are many shops, hotels, cultural organizations, real estate centre etc. after the name of the river. In Bengali Literature, Dhanshirhi river is a very enchanting object of truth and love.
