This article is about the acronym as used in MMORPG's, for other meanings of ftw please see Ftw (disambiguation)

FTW is an initialism meaning For The Win, or sometimes; For Teh Win. Both are commonly used in gaming, especially MMORPGs.

Much like w00t, it originated as a gaming term. It usually meant something that helped in the goal of winning, and therefore was "for the win". These days it is more broadly used as meaning, a good/beneficial thing.

In forums and chat rooms it is a common misspelling of the acronym WTF, or What The Fuck. Short for Fuck The What. Sometimes deliberately posed as a question.

FTW is also the Amtrak station code for Fort Worth, Texas.
