Australia competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. It was the eighteenth time that the nation had competed, being one of only four nations to have competed in every Summer Olympics to that time. This included two times that Australia competed as part of a combined team with New Zealand. Australia competed under the IOC country code AUS.
