Although its primary service area is Melbourne, its offices are in Mims, which is north of Titusville.
WIXC is the Space Coast affiliate for ESPN Radio. They are also the local affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays games, as well as NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races.
The WIXC call sign was previously used by FM-97.3 in Bay City, Michigan, now WMJO-FM.
It has been reported that WIXC will drop its current format in favor of classic country music on August 1, 2008. It's simulcast sister station WHOO will continue to air ESPN Radio programming.
