In 2007, the GDP and per capita GDP of Danyang reached 35.7 billion yuan (US$4.7 billion) and 44,242 yuan (US$6,061) respectively. It was listed within the top 10 cities in Jiangsu province as far as the comprehensive economic power was concerned. With its brand new charm, Danyang is catching more and more investors’ eyes and international capital flows into Danyang with double speed for two years in succession. Up to now, businessmen from 32 countries and regions have invested in Danyang with accumulated paid-up capital of US$1 billion.
