Indian Mujahideen are a militant Islamist terror outfit active in India, who have claimed the responsibility of several civilian attacks in India. Indian intelligence has stated that the India Mujahideen are terror activists who have been banned in the country. They are believed to be a "shadow amalgam of the banned SIMI and Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba" Two days after the 13 May 2008 Jaipur bombings, the Islamic extremist group sent an e-mail to Indian media in which they claimed responsibility for the attacks and said they would "demolish the faith (Hinduism)" of the "infidels of India".
