Korean singer Rain staged the concert tour RAINY DAY 2005 Tour which started in Seoul and traveled to Tokyo and Hong Kong.
History
He created and showcased fresh new spectacles at every single concert, and tickets sold out quickly as a result. His first solo concert in Japan last summer of 2004, entitled Rainy Day Japan and held at the Tokyo International Forum, was so popular that all the tickets were sold out 30 seconds (not minutes, seconds) after going on sale. And the tickets for another of his concerts in Taiwan were sold out the moment they became available. His performances in Hong Kong also sold out in a couple of hours. So Rain continues to set records in Asia. Now planning to go beyond Japan and Hong Kong, Rain intended a make to foray into People's Republic of China by giving a concert in Beijing, which he did.
Altogether, the Rainy Day global tour in 2005 sold out over 150,000 seats in 8 cities in Korea, China and Japan.
Rainy Day New York was the largest-ever Korean concert in New York City, featuring an exclusive 2 hour special performance by Rain at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It occurred in the smaller Theatre at MSG, not the main arena, for two nights. It consisted of Park Ji Yoon as support, as well as American pop singer JoJo, along with American artists P. Diddy and Omarion.
