WIXC is the callsign for 1060 The Mighty WIXC, an AM sports radio station licensed to Titusville, Florida, United States. It broadcasts at a medium-wave frequency of 1060 kHz. It is owned by Genesis Communications. It broadcasts from a 50 kW transmitter in Titusville, Florida, though the transmitter is drastically reduced in power in the evening to 5 kW. Although its primary service area is Melbourne, its offices are in Mims, which is north of Titusville.
WIXC was the Space Coast affiliate for ESPN Radio through July 31, 2008. They were are also the local affiliate for the Tampa Bay Rays games, as well as NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races.
The WIXC call sign was previously used by FM-97.3 in Bay City, Michigan, now WMJO-FM.
WIXC will switched its sport talk format formatt to classic country music on August 1, 2008. It's sister station WHOOcontinues to air ESPN Radio programming
