Umbrella - Rihanna
"Umbrella" also has rock elements!
Avril Infobox
Hi XxJoshuaxX, I reverted your previous edit because it removed the referenced genres from the infobox, even though you haven't actually removed them from the page; just compare before and after. I think it has something to do with the formatting, and possibly that "Musical style" isn't defined as a section in Template:Infobox Musical artist. For now I'd say leave them under the genre section. Jезка (talk) 15:05, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks. I'm still trying to work out how to add additional sections into the infobox, maybe you could ask at the help desk, as it's a good idea and would solve a lot of the genre issues. Jезка (talk) 15:17, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I've found the discussion :) Jезка (talk) 15:25, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah..but Ska has a slightly different sound to reggae and new wave mabe a sub genre of rock but its not the same as rock

You're disregarding what's been told to you before...
...that the actual name of a song or film or book etc. takes precedence over Misplaced Pages rules of capitalization. You really need to stop making an issue of this, as what you're doing is disruptive. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) 04:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:BRASSKNUCKLESNELLYCOVER.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:BRASSKNUCKLESNELLYCOVER.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:17, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. The recent edit you made to Brass Knuckles (album) has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. The recent edit you made to Brass Knuckles (album) constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thanks. Caiaffa (talk) 20:47, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- These warnings are obviously in error; some folks need to be more careful with Huggle. I removed the comment which should stop your edits from being flagged. (ESkog) 20:50, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Genres
You should see how many times I have had the loose album protected to stop him. That IP has been at it for months. — Realist (Speak) 20:04, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Prod tags
If someone removes the prod tag from an article, that means they contest that the article should be deleted. The prod tag states: You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to its deletion for any reason. They have the right to remove the tag. If you would still like the article to be deleted, please take it to AfD. DiverseMentality 17:37, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
About my changes
I can see many dates in others infobox of others albums, I can't see a rule that don't make me put others dates in this box. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Renanx3 (talk • contribs) 19:38, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry
Sorry, I don't knew that have a rule about this, but and the <*br*>? What's the problem to put this? Is unecessery but make the article more pretty. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Renanx3 (talk • contribs) 19:43, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
You don't saw my apologize?
Hey, I already apologized for the infobox, see the post above, I don't knew this, I want just say sorry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.16.201.134 (talk) 22:41, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Infobox2 is a test box and contains a field that was rejected by consensus by the WikiProject Musicians. It is not to be used. User:Journalist acted too swiftly in creating it as a test and it has been posted to another admin the be deleted. If the musical styles field is presented to the Musician Project again someday and meets with approval then it can be used. But until then consensus is that the field is not to be used. Also note that Allmusic, as a source for genres, has also been reject by several music related projects as a reliable source for genres. Since Journalist orignally proposed his "musicial style" field using Allmusic as an example, .. and Allmusic already being nixed as a source for genres, .. Journalist's entire support structure for his proposal was lost because he based it on Allmusic being an accepted genre reference when in fact it wasn't. If you want to go ahead and remove the false infobox from the few remaining pages where it is used incorrectly that would be great. If you don't have time that's OK. I will revert all the pages using the test infobox tomorrow. Cheers and take care! Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 01:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Capitalization
Please read the policies regarding capitalization before moving pages. Verbs, nouns, pronouns etc should be capitalized, and prepositions (at, on, with, by...) should NOT be capitalized. Please stop reverting my changes. Orane (talk) 21:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- According to whose reasoning? Unless you can show me the policies and MoS that explicitly states this, you don't have an argument. According to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Albums#Capitalization, I'm correct. Orane (talk) 22:01, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps you should see my previous discussion with Anger22 yesterday. A minor discussion does not change policies. If you want this reasoning of yours to be binding, discuss it on the actual project page, allow a lot people to agree or disagree, and then change the official WP:MoS. If not, then the discussion is irrelevant (or at best, only relevant to the article "One Flew Over..."). Orane (talk) 22:08, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- by the way, both of us are at risk of violating 3RR, so let's discuss this before making hasty changes to the article. Also, give me time to read the discussion. Orane (talk) 22:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- As I understand from the article, the capitalization convention is usually followed unless the work is an important piece of literature where the intent of the author takes precedence. This song title, if you ask me, does not qualify. I doubt the cover artist was conscious of capitalization convention(s). Cover artist usually use patterns and various writing styles based on their interpretation of how the cover should look. For consistency, we follow the WP and the English convention regarding capitalization.
- On a slightly different note, I agree that "Over" should be capitalized, because more authoritative sources (like IMDb) uses capital. Orane (talk) 22:37, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

If the cover says it, you don't need another source just put something along the lines of <ref> Cover time</ref>

Discussions
Quick question: I notice that that you always revert the new image to the Celine Dion article. Why do you believe that image changes had to be discussed? They do not, especially changes that are uncontroversial. We normally encourage editors to be bold in changing/updating pages. (On a side note, the image is unsuitable for the article because it is copyrighted, not because it needs consensus.) Not everything needs a vote. Orane (talk) 15:45, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Quick word of caution: I foresee your aggressive editing practices getting you in a lot of trouble. Orane (talk) 00:21, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image:Brass Knuckles.png
A tag has been placed on Image:Brass Knuckles.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is a redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Misplaced Pages (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on ] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. 3RR violation
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on User_talk:Winger84. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. It is my choice whether or not to answer the question that you have posed, since it is located on my user talk page. Since I have removed it more than once, common sense would dictate that I am choosing to decline answering that question. Your subsequent edit summaries in replacing the section border on violating civility policies and I now request, formally, that you do not pose the question again. --Winger84 (talk) 18:41, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Request to move article Nas incomplete
You recently filed a request at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves to move the page Nas to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.
Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:
- Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
- Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
- Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.
If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Misplaced Pages talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 00:40, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Bring em Out
"Em" is part of "them". However,it comes after the 1st letter. So it shouldn't be capitalized. The same thing applies for Back 'n the Day ("Back in the Day"). XxJoshuaxX (talk) 00:22, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's a totally different case. "In" would not have been capitalized since it is a preposition, therefore "n" shouldn't be capitalized. However, "Them" is a pronoun, and needs to be capitalized, even if a part of it is used. It's just like saying "Hate Me 'Cause I'm Beautiful". "'Cause" is a part of "Because", and since "Because" would normally be capitalized, so too is the shortened form. Orane (talk) 01:08, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Call it over reliance if you will, but allmusic actually is a good way of figuring out capitalization for songs and albums. They always follow proper capitalization conventions. Orane (talk) 01:14, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Re: Soulja Boy
Hello, please don't remove the image from the Soulja Boy article. It doesn't matter if it was used in a promotional campaign, the picture has a ShareALike free license and was confirmed by an administrator and is allowed to be used commercially. Thank you. --eric (mailbox) 17:58, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Please stop taking it off, it is copyrighted with a Creative Creations lic. Please stop removing it from the article -- it's the only picture we have. --eric (mailbox) 18:00, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
RE: Soulja Boy
I removed the section because the article is about Soulja Boy, not Arab. If Arab is notable enough outside of Soulja Boy, he should simply get his own article rather than piggybacking off Soulja Boy's. GlassCobra 18:13, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough; until the image's status is confirmed, we can keep it out of the article. However, please be aware that you have violated the 3RR rule; I won't block you, but please refrain from edit warring on the article again. GlassCobra 18:19, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
Harassment and 3RR
This is a courtesy note to inform you that you are now in violation of - for the second time in three days - 3RR, as well as harassing me against my wishes. I have subtlely asked you - in a previous edit summary on my talk page, removing your question(s) - not to comment on my page. I am now formally asking you not to contact me again, outside of discussion about articles. I will, however, in regard to the 3RR violation, be making a report of your edit-warring. --Winger84 (talk) 01:54, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- How the Hell am I harassing you? I'm asking you why you hate me. How is that harassment? I also have not "reverted" your talk page at all today. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 01:56, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Your continued adding of the same questions to my page, after I have removed them, constitutes reverting.
- As a courtesy, I am making you aware of this. --Winger84 (talk) 02:04, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I was asking you the same question, but with entirely different content.
- And thanks a lot, that further proves that you hate me. XxJoshuaxX (talk) 02:06, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
