Henk Stubbe, professionally known as Ome Henk, is a Dutch comedy singer. His best-known song is Opblaaskrokodil ("Inflatable crocodile"), which was the base for the animutation French Erotic Film. Among his other works are Lekker, Lekker, ("Nice, nice", or perhaps, "Nicely, nicely" in Dutch), a parody of the Romanian pop song Dragostea din Tei, and Neem een ander in de maling (a somewhat idiomatic Dutch expression loosely meaning "Go off and trick somebody else"), a parody of the Aqua song Barbie Girl. Interestingly, the latter is frequently mistaken by anglophones for a German song, and in most of these cases mis-attributed to German Industrial metal band Rammstein. This is widely believed to be the fault of a mis-labeling on a file-sharing network.
Henk publicly lists the Dutch town of Biggeveen as his residence, which is where the fictionalized Ome Henk lives even if Stubbe does not. His songs are mostly humorous complaints about small nuisances of daily life, grumpy social criticism, and other such topics of interest to a grouchy old man, often peppered with long spoken rants and bickering with a cast of quirky friends and neighbors. While his music forms the most important part of his body of work, Ome Henk and his neighbors also appear in cartoons (still and occasionally animated) and, more recently, live-action comedic sketches.
