A shower is any of a number of things:
- a brief period or small area of precipitation, usually rain or snow
- a plumbing fixture for bathing, or a safety shower for washing off chemicals; also, the act of bathing under such a fixture; public showers may have separate cubicles, half-open partitions, or common shower rooms; usually the latter two are sex-segregated, unless, as may be the case in a swimming pool, one is not supposed to take off one's swimsuit; the latter also applies for outside showers, e.g. on a beach. A special kind of shower is a steam shower. See also shower curtain.
- a party, such as a baby shower or bridal shower
