===Brooke and Taylor's Rivalry=== ===Brooke and Taylor's Rivalry===
Brooke and Taylor's rivalry has reached fever pitch of late, due to the fact that although she signed away her rights to her biological child, ], Brooke still insists on being in his life since Taylor revealed to her in a drunken state that she hated baby Jack since he came from Brooke's egg. And she didn't know if she'd be able to deal with that fact. After hearing this confession from Taylor, Brooke decided to sue for custody. Taylor saw this as being a manipulative attempt by Brooke to take everything away from her since she took Ridge away from her as well. Brooke also became concerned when Taylor began seducing her son while she was attempting to gain custody of Jack. Brooke saw it as Taylor going after her son because she was seeking custody of her son. She also took it as a sign of Taylor trying to get back at her or rival her since Taylor has slept with Storm (Brooke's brother),Stephen Logan (Brooke's father),Ridge Forrester (Brooke's first love and intimate affair), James Warrick(Brooke's ex-fiance), Nick Marone (Brooke's ex-husband) and now her son Rick Forrester. She accuses Taylor of sleeping with her son or encouraging his infatuation with her (which occurred from the time he was a child due to Stephanie calling Brooke a slut and Taylor a saint. Rick even told Taylor as a little boy he wish Taylor was his mother instead of Brooke) to which Taylor denies stating that was more of her pattern. ===What infuriates Brooke about Taylor?===
That inspite of her lack of sex appeal she's able to manipulate any male with this faulty image of perfection. Even as a young woman Brooke called Taylor shady. She couldn't stand that even though she surmised Taylor wasn't all she appeared to be she could never prove it since Stephanie was generally protecting any of her secrets she might have. Taylor's past is also sketchy so not much is known and also Ridge married Taylor on the spur of the moment and knew her for only a short time while Brooke and Ridge had known each other much longer. This ability of Taylor's to manipulate a situation, people and men is what intimidates Brooke but not Taylor's sex appeal. It also unnerves her that she has the ability to hang on to a man through what others have called "her pyschobabble" or ability to analyze a person and use it to her advantage. It's become quite obvious that Taylor is in constant competition with her, which is one of the reasons for her not being pleased with her son's decision to marry her. As a young woman she wanted to marry Ridge because she truly loved him. It wasn't to get back at Stephanie. However, that's how it's been portrayed.

===Psychological Edge to the Show=== ===Psychological Edge to the Show===
Brooke is usually portrayed as being the antithesis of Stephanie Forrester. (Stephanie is mean, unforgiving, cold, hard, non-nurturing and unsexy whereas Brooke is the opposite. Passionate, very forgiving, soft, nurturing and sexy. Stephanie is more masculine and Brooke feminine. ) So even though Taylor has slept through Brooke's family, she's generally taken it in stride until it came to her son. She also wasn't particular about her dating Nick right after she left him to be with Ridge. She never mentions this in the dialogue but it is implied that it disturbs her when Taylor goes after men she's been involved with first not to mention her relatives. Brooke has been slapped, punched, choked, verbally abused etc. for the same situations that Taylor has found herself in even though she's classified as the slut and Taylor as the saint. There is a psychological edge that keeps this rivalry fascinating to the audiences. Which seemed in the past to revolve around Brooke's depression. There's an almost sadist glee to her misery. ===Brooke's Flakey behavior Regarding Ridge===

The Forresters have been a thorn in Brooke's side every since her love at first sight moment with Ridge. Stephanie has led on several occassions a "tar and feather" approach when it's come to her. Ridge has also been abusive towards her along with Eric and Thorne. Brooke has usually in the past chosen Ridge as the man of her dreams over and over again however, she has had deep reservations when it comes to his violent streak and his controlling, willful manner towards her and others. Example (1) He led her on for years that he wanted to be with her laughing in her face and teasing her while all along knowing he wasn't going to leave Taylor. (2) He backed his mother up in trying to destroy her marriage to Thorne. (3) He's tried to kick her out of the company, backing his mother and Taylor up. (4) He raped her when she moved on to be with Nick. (5) He beat up her son Rick when he caught his daughter and Rick in an embrace kissing. (6) He treated her for years like a stupid little doll he could tell any lie to and she'd accept it.

Brooke loves Ridge and it'll always be Ridge but due to Ridge treating her disrespectfully, she's been more confused by whether or not he truly is the man she should be with since he's lacked the respect for her that she so desperately needed. She obtained that respect from Nick Marone but then he became just as controlling and potentially violent as well. And Brooke left him, due to his mean streak and because of his affair with her daughter. Brooke's main problem appears to be that she's a romantic and she's looking for a perfect male which doesn't exist. Not even in Ridge her soul mate. Ridge and Brooke appear to be maturing now, but the way Bell operates that may not last. Hopefully, he'll mature this couple and will allow them to have a long and moderately happy marriage.

Brooke Logan is a fictional character in the American daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, portrayed since the show's premiere in 1987 by actress Katherine Kelly Lang. Brooke made brief appearances on The Young and the Restless in 1999 and 2007.

Brooke grew up in the San Fernando Valley outside Los Angeles with her mother Beth (Nancy Burnett) and siblings Storm (William deVry), Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Katie (Heather Tom). Brooke's father, Stephen (Patrick Duffy), had deserted the family when the children were very young, but he has recently sought to mend his relationship with Brooke.

Brooke, who in 1987 was a college student majoring in biochemistry, fell for rich playboy Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) through the tabloids, and one evening she met him while working as a caterer for a Forrester party.

Brooke has had a rivalry with many, notably Stephanie Forrester, the mother of her love Ridge Forrester. Stephanie disapproves of her relationship with Ridge and has constantly tried to get Brooke out of Ridge's life with some success. Circumstances seem to always occur to break up this couple. In recent months, this rivalry has no longer been so significant, with Brooke developing a bigger rivalry with Taylor Hayes, as she tries to stop her marrying her son Rick Forrester. Her meddling in her children's lives has made many believe that she and Stephanie have much in common and perhaps she will realise the way Stephanie felt when she had to watch her son marry a woman she loathes.

Her children are Rick and Bridget with Eric Forrester, Hope Logan (by Deacon) who is adopted by Ridge Forrester and R.J. Forrester with Ridge; and while not the birth-mother, is the biological mother of Jack Marone via incidental egg donor to Taylor Hayes and Nick (Jack Wagner)

Character history

Dave Reed

Brooke's first boyfriend and fiancee was a police officer. Their love was more of a puppy love type. Brooke told him she loved him but wanted to wait before giving her virginity up. However, after reading about the Forresters in the newspaper and catering a party along with her mother Beth, she became smitten by Ridge and the feeling appeared to be extremly mutual. It was love at first sight.

Caroline and Brooke's Relationship

Was a very complex relationship. After Caroline was in the hospital for an ailment Brooke went to meet her and introduced herself to her,not aware at the time that she was engaged or in love with Ridge. Caroline and Brooke were both virgins and became tight friends even though Stephanie was suspicious of Brooke and became more so after she discovered she was Beth's daughter. Caroline relayed to Brooke that she planned on loosing her virginity to her husband where as Brooke planned on loosing it only to the man she loved and that marriage didn't have to be a part of the deal. Their philosophies actually played a role in their fate. Caroline and Taylor(fake good girl) the good girl and Brooke the tramp; which Stephanie loved to fondly say before Brooke even became that title. Caroline went back and forth not knowing whether or not she wanted Ridge due to Ridge having an affair with another woman other then Brooke. So she married Thorne.Brooke had her first intimate experience with Ridge after Caroline told her she had no problem with her dating or becoming engaged to Ridge; that is until she later discovered that Ridge wanted her back and had only chosen Brooke at the time because Caroline was unaware of this. Mine you, Caroline's way of thinking makes no sense, because she dumped Ridge for being a womanizer but now just because he wants her back while she's married to Thorne she all of a sudden wants him since he's with Brooke. So even though Brooke and Caroline were close friends it was a very complicated competitive relationship that always resulted in Brooke feeling as though she had to make threats to Caroline to stay away from Ridge since she was already married to Thorne at the time. Yet, on Caroline's deathbed she implores Brooke to divorce Eric and marry Ridge and also relays to Dr. Taylor Hayes that Brooke and Ridge belong together and she wants her to promise her that she sees to it. Dr. Hayes however, rejects the notion stating that Brooke was a married woman and decides to pursue a relationship with Ridge instead.

Ridge Forrester

Ever since meeting Ridge, their relationship has been troubled, often because of the manipulations of his mother Stephanie. Although Ridge has loved other women such as Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and Taylor, his heart always belonged to Brooke in some fashion. Brooke used to feel that Ridge was her "destiny"and the couple has endured many trips to the altar. Finally in 2004 (after eight marriages, four of them to Ridge but only one of those valid) Brooke gave birth to Ridge's son R.J. Forrester. The two were recently engaged once again however Ridge's physical attack on her son Rick (Kyle Lowder), proved to be the turning point in their relationship when Brooke broke off their engagement. Hurt and furious that Ridge would dare to harm her son, Brooke refuses to forgive him. Ridge and Ashley Abbott started to date in April 2007 though it's clear he still very much in love with Brooke. Ridge and Brooke had a chance to reunite however when he realized that she still had feelings for Nick, he turned her down. Ridge's relationship with Brooke was strained when a series of events causes CPS to put RJ and Hope in his custody. Although he believes Brooke is a good mother and doesn't want to take the children, he thinks that she needs some time to get herself together. Brooke feels that Ridge has betrayed her and he feels torn between his love for her and concern for their children. However, after discovering Brooke's attacker's identity, he fought him off, and the attacker was accidentally killed after being distracted by a security guard and a flock of pigeons into a transformer, whilst holding an electrical antenna. Subsequently, Ridge dropped the custody suit, and, against Stephanie's wishes, reunited Brooke and her children. After he broke off his engagement to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), he and Brooke reunited. Currently, Ridge is postponing any marital commitments to Brooke until her feelings for Nick are proven to be over.

Eric Forrester

When Ridge left Brooke for Caroline, Eric consoled Brooke and they fell in love. She soon became pregnant with Rick and Eric divorced Stephanie and married Brooke. Brooke got pregnant again, with Bridget (Ashley Jones), but didn't know the paternity of the baby: was it Eric or Ridge? After one misleading test (tampered with by Sheila), it was proven Eric was the father. Eric and Brooke divorced after 2 years of marriage. The pair remarried in 2005 as part of a scheme to keep Bridget and Nick together - which was to convince Bridget that Brooke was not going to steal Nick from her. The marriage was dissolved only months later. Eric returned to Stephanie, but has now divorced her again, as he has fallen in love with Brooke's sister, Donna.

Rivalry with Macy

Thorne pursued Brooke. Thorne's fiancee Macy Alexander (Bobbie Eakes) was left out in the cold by family. The whole family was against Brooke and Thorne's relationship, but was forced to accept it in the end, and the couple married. Six months later, Brooke realized she was still in love with Ridge . They annulled their marriage, although it was later discovered that the marriage was invalid since Thorne's wife, Macy, was still alive at the time of their wedding.

Deacon Sharpe (Sleeping with her son-in-law)

After unsuccessfully trying to get Ridge away from Taylor Hayes, Brooke sought comfort with her daughter's husband Deacon Sharpe, who she thought was no longer in a relationship with her daughter. Brooke became pregnant with Hope, and almost lost her daughter Bridget (then played by Jennifer Finnigan) in the process because of the affair with Bridget's husband. She broke up with Deacon, and later fought for custody of Hope with him. Deacon had to back off and left L.A. with his son Eric Sharpe and moved to Las Vegas.

Paternity of RJ Forrester

After being disappointed by Ridge, Brooke started seeing the new man in town, Dominick "Nick" Payne. Little did she know he was Ridge's half-brother. In the end though Brooke returned to Ridge, but her feelings for Nick weren't completely gone. Thinking that Ridge had died after being kidnapped by Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), Brooke was seduced by Nick and got pregnant, and wasn't sure of the paternity of the child. Ridge (who turned out to be alive after all) was proven to be the father of a boy they named Ridge Junior, aka RJ. Nick went on to marry Brooke's daughter Bridget when he learned that she was pregnant with his child, but the feelings between Nick and Brooke never went away. Eventually Bridget lost the baby and decided to give Nick his freedom so that he could be with Brooke. Brooke married Nick, but Ridge's constant interference caused Nick to embark on a drunken one-night stand with Bridget resulting in another pregnancy. Nick soon revealed to Brooke that Bridget was pregnant with his child. A furious Brooke dumped him and went back to Ridge, not realising that Bridget's baby was actually fathered by Dante Damiano (Antonio Sabato, Jr.). Bridget lost the baby, but yet Nick had vengeance on his mind after his mother fell over a balcony during an argument with Stephanie. To get even with Stephanie, he blackmailed Eric to sell Forrester Creations to him, or else Stephanie would be going to jail. He got the company, making enemies of the entire Forrester family in the process; and even Brooke stunned him by selling her shares to him and leaving him returning to Ridge. Brooke's break-up with Ridge when he physically assaulted her son, Rick, is she tried to get Nick back. Nick, however, married her longtime rival, Dr. Taylor Hayes in May 2007.

Stephanie Forrester

Brooke was the daughter of Stephanie Douglas Forrester's old college rival Beth Logan. Stephanie has never liked Brooke from the beginning, due to the fact that Brooke was Beth's daughter. Brooke however, has liked (and aspired to be like) Stephanie , from the beginning and has tried to gain her support and love on a regular basis. Stephanie unfortunately could, never accept Brooke's relations with her son Ridge. Her hatred for Brooke and Ridge's relationship, only led to her husband Eric and her son Thorne to feel sorry for Brooke; which actually led to them comforting Brooke and eventually marrying her. Stephanie's hatred and physical abuse led to many of the situations that occurred regarding Brooke's erratic behavior (her personality appeared to be different when you compare the beginning of the show. The change occurred due to the abuse by Stephanie or Taylor's interference) and even the creation of the nymphomaniac tramp reputation she has. Therefore, Brooke was actually Stephanie's creation. She also disliked the fact that Brooke at one point took over control of the family company. Stephanie was able to regain control of the company, but was still driven to sever the family's ties with Brooke once and for all. However, in a surprising about-face, Stephanie has now embraced Brooke and given her 50% percent ownership of Forrester Creations, after her son Ridge nearly died from a heart attack brought on by anger over Stephanie's continuing disdain for Brooke, but things changed after Brooke married Nick (Stephanie wanted Brooke and Ridge together). Stephanie asked for Brooke to return the stock because she was not part of the family any longer. Brooke refused to give back the stock and now Stephanie plots to regain control of Forrester Creations. However, since Brooke left Nick and is now back with Ridge, Stephanie and Brooke's relationship has improved significantly. The feud is back on since the return of Eric and Brooke's son, Rick to LA, and his mending relationship with his former 'niece' and Stephanie's granddaughter, Phoebe Forrester (MacKenzie Mauzy). Stephanie feels that Brooke's support for their relationship is misplaced, and was very relieved when Brooke ended her engagement to Ridge in April 2007. After it was discovered that Stephanie had had a hand in her rape, Brooke has returned to Ridge and are determined to build a life together, despite Stephanie's meddling.

Recent Storylines

The rivalry between Stephanie and Brooke returned in July 2007, when Stephanie used her influence to have Child Protective Services investigate Brooke when a series of unfortunate events occurred and Hope and R.J. were accidentally left alone. Stephanie used her position to testify and have a reluctant Ridge go for temporary custody of the children. She was thrilled to have taken Brooke's children and refused to let Brooke see them. Stephanie vowed to keep the children and Brooke away from her family.

Brooke's Rape

In a desperate attempt to prove that Brooke was an unfit mother, Stephanie convinced sleazy lawyer Andy Johnson (Paul Ganus) to pursue Brooke. Andy began to send Brooke gifts, and began to forcefully flirt with her inspite of her intense disinterest in him. In August 2007, Andy followed Brooke home and raped her, threatening to damage her chances of gaining custody of Hope and R.J. should she report him to the police. She has revealed her attack to Bridget, and Ridge. A furious Ridge tracked Andy down on the top of a roof of an upscale eatery, and after being distracted by a security guard and a flock of pigeons, was backed into an electrical transformer, whilst holding an antenna. Andy was electrocuted, and the death was ruled accidental. Against Stephanie's wishes, Ridge dropped the custody suit (she had hoped to help him get permanent custody) and reunited Brooke and her children. She later revealed the story of her attack to not only Nick; but to Felicia, her sisters, Donna and Katie, Eric and also Ridge's ex-fiancee, Ashley. When she discovered that it was Stephanie who had a hand in it, (although she did not know what Andy had done) Brooke furiously destroyed all the pictures of Stephanie on the mantel. This occurred after she received a letter from Stephanie, who had found out what happened and offered a heartfelt apology, before leaving town without telling anyone. When Stephanie did return, she went to see Brooke, who was furious with her for her hand in the rape. As Stephanie pleaded to forgive her, Brooke remained unmoved, until she encouraged Brooke to tell her what he had done. Which Brooke did, and it shocked even the unflappable Stephanie to the core. Although she has accepted Stephanie's explanation, she did not accept her apology or forgive her for her hand in one of her most traumatizing moments. She has bonded together with her family; Ridge and Eric against Stephanie to prevent her from ruining her happiness ever again.Rape or attempted rape should never be forgiven

Brooke and Taylor's Rivalry

Brooke and Taylor's rivalry has reached fever pitch of late, due to the fact that although she signed away her rights to her biological child, Jack Marone, Brooke still insists on being in his life since Taylor revealed to her in a drunken state that she hated baby Jack since he came from Brooke's egg.

Psychological Edge to the Show

Brooke and Her Children

She also doesn't like the idea of Bridget getting involved with Nick her ex-husband (due to Nick's affairs within the family: Brooke, Felicia, Bridget and now Katie who is pregnant by Nick who is presently married to Bridget) since she's well aware that Nick has the same impetuous nature she once had. She's infuriated by Rick's choice to marry Taylor but has decided along with Ridge to ignore the couple hoping that their lack of negative emotion will soon play out eventually. She believes that Rick is marrying Taylor to spite her for all the years she chased after Ridge and ignored him and Bridget. Brooke did not win custody of Jack but Nick and this pleased her even though Taylor could have visitation rights; since she only wanted to make sure the child would be kept in loving safe hands. Bridget is now the step-mother to Jack. Taylor's animosity towards Brooke has also waned since Taylor and Rick have become a couple and Brooke and Ridge have completely ignored the couple due to the fact that they're now interested in running and controlling Forrester Creations. However, after Eric took ill the siblings Thorne, Felicia, and Ridge started to vye for control of Forrester Creations along with Brooke.

Current Storyline

Brooke is currently allied with Ridge, and his brother and sister, in trying to get Donna out of Forrester Creations; however, it was discovered that Donna had power of attorney. After Owen (her assistant) revealed to Donna that Felicia offered him $200,000 to destroy her marriage to Eric through a seduction ploy she then decided to fire Ridge, Thorne and Felicia; giving her son Marcus a promotion as well as her nephew Rick since the Forresters were being removed from their positions. Despite Brooke's pleading to give up this animosity toward Ridge and his family for their betrayal, Donna defied her and insisted that Ridge, Thorne and Felicia are not ever welcome at Forrester again and that she, Rick, Owen and Marcus can run Forrester Creations successfully, as she thinks that this is what Eric would want.

Upon discovering this, Brooke walked out, showing her allegiance to Ridge and his family, and siding with them in this latest corporate fight.
