Popular are also čerešňovica (cherry spirit) and marhuľovica (apricot spirit). Very expensive is pálenka distilled from fermented forest berries, including raspberries, blueberries and cranberries. Drienkovica (a spirit distilled from Cornelian cherries (Cornus mas) was popularized by former Slovak president Rudolf Schuster. |
