FTW (or 4TW) is an initialism meaning For The Win, or sometimes; For Teh Win. Both are commonly used by dickhead gamers, especially MMORPGs with no life.
Much like w00t, it originated as a gaming term. It usually meant something that helped in the goal of winning, and therefore was "for the win". These days it is more broadly used as meaning, a good/beneficial thing.
