A gimp suit is a garment designed to cover the body completely (usually including the hands and feet) and to be very close-fitting. It often has an attached hood; if not, it will be worn with a bondage hood or "gimp mask". It may be made from rubber, PVC, spandex, darlex or leather, although leather (not being stretchy) cannot be as close-fitting as the others.
It differs from a catsuit, unitard, or zentai more in its purpose than its appearance. It is used in BDSM to objectify the wearer, or gimp, and reduce him or her to the status of a sexual toy, rather than a sexual partner. Unless there are suitably placed zips, the breasts and genitals will be inaccessible while the suit is worn (although they can still be massaged).
Such a suit is depicted in the film The People Under the Stairs. The suit is also worn by actor Matty Grannell in the film "TSG"
