Bebo began as a website and service to enable friends to stay in contact in the event that their postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers or other details should change. But now has become an online community where friends can post pictures, write blogs and send messages to one another.
Users create an account (or respond to an invitation), then invite their friends to do the same, so that they can see their account. In the event of a friend's details changing, he or she will be notified of the fact, and will therefore always have up to date contact information.
