KP Botany, I am sorry you are having a bad day on Misplaced Pages. Puzzling over your comments on several talk pages (eg ]), I wonder if your browser refreshes pages in its cache when they change? If not, if it shows you stale pages, that could explain a lot of your frustration. I'll tell you what ''I'' find frustrating: being the target of ad hominems and now an ANI just because you feel frustrated. I agree that is a huge waste of your time. Why do you spend your time like that? Why do you blame others for how you choose to spend your time? --] (]) 07:55, 4 January 2009 (UTC) |

There is a DRV discussion here related to the Japanese citrus category that may benefit from your input in view of your contributions to the Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Plants. Thanks. -- Jreferee t/c 20:38, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey, there !
How nice to see you ... it would sure be nice if you'd really come back :-) You are missed. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:02, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- It would be great to see you back, KP. Honesty, integrity and ex punks are in short supply around here, sadly it seems. Ceoil (talk) 23:13, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree with the above two postings. You are a wonderful person and Wikipedian, KP Botany, and I also miss you. Acalamari 00:12, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Let me tempt you to come back, too; ever since you left, I've languished at X-ray crystallography and now you see how bad it is. :( But I'm working on some nice Blender animations to make it snazzy, and I promise to give metallurgy and mineralogy their due. Let's make it an FA together! :) Affectionately, Willow (talk) 02:19, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- You're a groovy guy and one of the few hereabouts who's made me laugh. So come back any time. -- Hoary (talk) 02:48, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to let you know that if you lost any sleep over any lack of information in that article, I proposed to delete it. I wonder if the author signed some non-disclosure agreements. BrewJay (talk) 13:22, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject California roll call
Hello from WikiProject California!
As part of a recent update to our project main page we are conducting a roll call to check which members are still active and interested in working on California related content. If you are still interested in participating, simply move your username from the inactive section of the participant list to the active section. I hope you will find the redesigned project pages helpful, and I wanted to welcome you back to the project. If you want you can take a look at the newly redesigned:

Again, hi! Optigan13 (talk) 00:23, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
I hope you stay
We need your perspectives.--Curtis Clark (talk) 02:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

A Welcome Back from me too, KP! I haven't been very active myself lately, but it makes me happy to see you around again. :) --NoahElhardt (talk) 21:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Welcome back too. Having good people around is what makes it worthwhile to edit here. Kingdon (talk) 03:35, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
We can now continue to improve the encyclopedia properly again. DGG (talk) 00:49, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello, KP Botany! Welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions to this freepedia. If you decide that you need help, ask Krampus or your friendly new chihuaha, or just reach for a beer. Please remember to, um, you know, and all that sort of thing. Give 'em hell and don't hit "save page" till you see the whites of their eyes. -- Hoary (talk) 07:01, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

- I have to confess that I'm missing the horns, KP. Yet googling quickly shows me how and where to acquire them. Like almost anything else, they're just commodities. Isn't the free market a wonderful thing? -- Hoary (talk) 07:19, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Coaster
Hey man I am simply adding high quality photos I'm not quite sure what you want me to reference. I added one blog which I did in fact reference. I don't know why you are targeting me and my photos for deletion they are clearly appropriate. I am trying to update wikipedia for the community to see these articles in a new light, please stop deleting my work. Explain to me what is wrong with my photos if you are in fact doing legitimate work. Thanks, Coaster —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coaster420 (talk • contribs) 17:51, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Your photographs are not supported by anything at all. How do I know that that is indeed "Green Crack," which is used as a medical marijuana, when there's not one single legitimate source about the Green Crack strain, you've used the sources you have inaccurately, and seem to be on a mission to promote Green Crack marijuana on Misplaced Pages and your personal blog? You want to add photos and advertise your blog, attach an air of legitimacy to anything. Until then, just cut it out. There are plenty of usable resources for marijuana strains. Find one, use it, then proceed. Until then, and until you hit the article discussion page about your images, just cool it. Also, your image captions tend to say it all, that you don't consider Misplaced Pages an encyclopedia, which, it is. There are plenty of sites that will allow you to share bodacious images of the weed you are selling who will allow these uploads without any support. They're welcome here with a little background research that shows they belong in an encyclopedia. Come to terms with it. We'll be glad to help you do so. --KP Botany (talk) 17:55, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
You have me completely wrong, I am not selling anything and I don't know where you get that idea. What blog of mine are you referring to? I'm not advertising anything you seem to have a trust issue with me, I am here for the same reason as you. I don't know how to prove to you that I'm not selling anything and even if I was I have no idea how my images promote my product. Every single one of my images are completely legitimate and I do indeed consider wikipedia as an encyclopedia. Green Crack is actually a common strain here in the medical state of California here are some sites referring to it; http://cannabis.com/viewPhoto.php?photo_id=942&title=Green_Crack http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=green%20crack http://www.420magazine.com/forums/plant-bud-photos/65112-green-crack.html http://forum.grasscity.com/recreational-marijuana-use/149984-green-crack-bud.html
Your right a tulip does not go in an article with roses, I do not think your analogy applies to me. All of my images are completely appropriate. Green Crack is extremely popular, there are over a hundred different strains of marijuana I doubt you have heard of them all. Why do you keep changing that LSD picture of tabs, its much more appropriate for the forms of LSD section, that sheet of LSD is not something common. Also that picture of the shroom cap is appropriate in the description section, the mescaline brew is appropriate so people have an idea about how it can be acquired. My photos are justly added, why don't you get a second opinion before you just change my work. -Coaster
You keep referring to my "blogs" please show me what you are talking about. Coaster420 (talk) 19:01, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes that is what I'm here for, to help create an encyclopedia on the internet. Lets discuss what you think is wrong with my edits, I believe the couple pictures that I replaced was appropriately changed. Explain to me what precisely is wrong with my alterations. Coaster420 (talk) 08:16, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Personal attack
Moved user Born2cycle's personal attacks to his/her talk page. Of course, there's still this gem where he accuses the floral editors of being a cabal out colluding in secret against him/her. --KP Botany (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I was a member of that other cabal. Yup, I heard about it. I was a member. I quit. --KP Botany (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Margaret L. Kripke
Hi. I saw your request to G7 this article, but I'd hope you would consider continuing to work on it in your user space. I userified it to User:KP Botany/Margaret L. Kripke. If you don't want to work on it and REALLY want to give it up, feel free to tag it with {{db-u1}}. Sorry about the aggressive new page patrollers--many of them can't tell the difference between a real article and one with no encyclopedic value. Please accept my apologies on Misplaced Pages's behalf. Jclemens (talk) 19:03, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Re: What the heck?
I'm sorry you lost work your work in progress. Please understand that simultaneous edits are part of the wiki process, and that the software is specifically engineered to stop simultaneous edits from deleting each other: see WP:edit conflict. If you're sure what happened wasn't an edit conflict, you should file a bug report with the developers.
Sadly, while verifiability is one of Wikimedia's most important policies, many otherwise great articles are created every day with missing references. The {{unreferenced}} tag in no way suggests the article should be deleted, nor disparages the encyclopedic value or quality of the article; rather, it alerts helpful editors (like you!) that a small but very important addition to the article would greatly improve it. If you were about to cite sources yourself, great! You are welcome (and encouraged) to remove maintenance tags from your articles when the underlying issue is resolved.
As I mentioned above, it is unreasonable to expect nobody else to edit your article after you have created it in main space. If you wish to thresh out some rough drafts undisturbed, just create a subpage in your user space, then move the final draft to main space when done. Alternatively, placing a {{construction}} template on an article will alert other editors that you are still working on it.
Again, I apologize if my edit disrupted your work. If you are still upset, feel free to respond on my talk page, or file a Wikiquette alert. TotientDragooned (talk) 22:58, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

re User:Coaster420
I am concerned that the above individual is attempting to place a advocacy bias in the articles, so while the knowledge is useful I am wary in allowing them to edit the article spaces. I personally have no problem with people living that lifestyle, but most of the drugs are illegal (certainly in the way being described) and I would prefer that the articles recognise that - and the fact that the drugs are used recreationly - in a neutral tone. If you think Coaster420 is able to contribute without apparent bias, then drop me a line and I will unblock. LessHeard vanU (talk) 11:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

That discussion probably doesn't need yet another confusing example, but I thought you might be amused by this one. It suddenly occurred to me that the most commonly used name for Carl Linnaeus is "L." Hesperian 12:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Or as his posse called him, "L. Diddy".
- There was a lot of controversy on that page over the name. Some people wanted the birth name (Carl Linnaeus), others the name under which he authored (Carolus Linnaeus), and of course the Swedes wanted the ennobled name (Carl von Linné), which always amazes me, because it seems so Germano-French. You could have solved it all with "L."--Curtis Clark (talk) 16:22, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Well, er, queen me, actually, but, dang, if that ain't the solution to all Misplaced Pages's naming problems. I'm going to move Carol to his proper page. --KP Botany (talk) 00:31, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Wow, I created a lot of work for you. Thanks for all the edit support--will try not to create new articles when I'm miserably ill and taking cough medicine in the future. I appreciate that you take time to assess all the plant articles. --KP Botany (talk) 00:14, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- No worries. Just noticed a couple things here and there. Let me know if I ever make any questionable formatting edits, as I may assume no one minds a particular style. Thanks for writing all those articles :-) Hope you're feeling better! Cheers, Rkitko 01:12, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

- You know I love you Balloonman and all the great Misplaced Pages editors who work together to make Misplaced Pages articles something good. But, really, spending a week getting attacked because I'm a plant editor, then getting sucked into playing a silly game with a totally weird pointed editor is such a waste of time.
- I will tie up a few loose ends, and I will probably be back. But this is so far from unenjoyable, being the target of idiotic games, and I want to enjoy my vacation.

But I am going to fix some loose ends, as I said, namely, I'm determined to make common name pages for the billion/jillion California plant stubs that user:IceCreamAntiSocial (or whatever he/she calls himself) has taken the time to contribute, and I'm going to copy-edit and spruces the dozens and dozens of biographical articles created by User:Rbraunwa before he died of cancer. The first I have to be me to do, that latter I can IP. But, really, it's absurd for one user to have so wasted my time manipulating me to make a lame point that holds no water. --KP Botany (talk) 06:34, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- You really can't let them get to you. Trust me...I'm sure Balloonman gets called every name in the book like I do...you'd be amazed how many people want to cuss you out because you delete "Nick is teh suxors!". You just gotta keep fighting the good fight... I mean, if you need to take a few days off, go ahead, but you do really good work and I'd hate to see you go. --Smashville 06:41, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
