Michael Jenkins is the president of the Unification Church of the United States, or more formally, the "North American President of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification", based in Washington, D.C. He was appointed to the position by church founder Sun Myung Moon on April 16, 2000 after serving for the previous 2 years as the HSA Vice-President for evangelical outreach. Previously, Jenkins had pastored the Chicago Family Church of Peace in the Chicago, Illinois area for seventeen years. As of May, 2008, Jenkins was still serving as president and, along with other high-ranking members of the Women's Federation for World Peace and other Unification Church related organizations, met with U.S. President George W. Bush at the Bush Library at College Station.
