Hazard Troopers are a specialized subsection of Imperial stormtroopers found in the PC game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Hazard troopers wear a very heavy suit of body armor which offers complete immunity to temperature extremes, as well as being immune to acidic damage. The armor is also a functioning space suit which can keep the wearer alive in a vacuum or underwater environment for up to three days. The armour is extremely strong and can resist lightsaber attacks, to some extent.

Hazard troopers are commonly equipped with either the Imperial Heavy Repeater or the Stouker Concussion Rifle.

Appearances

  • Hazard troopers were deployed on Vjun, when the Cult of Ragnos was stealing Force energies from Bast Castle. Resistant to the native acid rain, the hazard troopers gave a tough fight to the Jedi Kyle Katarn and his apprentice Jaden Korr.
  • Hazard troopers make a second appearance in the third tier of missions in the game. The hazard troopers are found on an Imperial Dreadnought ship, orbiting Byss. The player has to engage the Troopers in an environment with relatively less space as compared to Vjun.
  • The last appearance of hazard troopers is on Taspir III, where they once again take advantage of their suit to cross unbearably hot lava and attack the player.
