A Nineties kid (alternatively as '90s kid) is a term used to describe a minor subculture within Generation Y of individuals who were children or teenagers during the 1990s. Typically, such members are extremely nostalgic for the decade and continue to carry on several key attributes with them on their person such as wearing flannel or a backward cap. Many online forums and websites devoted to 1990s nostalgia developed as a result of the trend.

Culturally, many '90s kids do not have memories of the Cold War and grew up with much of the pop culture associated with the mid-to-late 1990s, but some can recall events as early as the Gulf War and the death of Kurt Cobain. Classic Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network shows such as those on SNICK and early Toonami, however, have had an enormous impact on individuals within the Nineties kid demographic.

Ninties kids are more likely to be fans of alternative rock, classic rock, and grunge music moreso than rap or hip hop due to alternative rock's exposure during their youth.

Modern Nineties kids collectively resent a lot of modern music and programming of the 2000s decade. They typically will watch anime, sitcoms, or music videos over reality television and action-dramas.

To others, '90s kids may appear to be fairly happy individuals, and at times seem immature, but they have learned to keep their individual character intact as they aged .
