FTW (or 4TW) is an initialism meaning For The Win, or sometimes; For Teh Win. Both are commonly used by gamers, especially MMORPGs.

Much like w00t, it originated as a gaming term. It usually meant something that helped in the goal of winning, and therefore was "for the win". These days it is more broadly used as meaning a beneficial thing. TTW is also used as a past particple, meaning "Takes The Win".

FTW has also long been used by the counter-culture types to mean "Fuck the World".
