History of IRAP RMS™
1987 - Reservoir software company, Geomatic, Introduces its 2D reservoir modelling IRAP classic product.
1994 - IRAP becomes IRAP RMS™,the industry’s first 3D modelling package.
1995 - Smedvig Technologies, later known as Roxar AS, acquires companies Geomatic AS and ODIN Reservoir Software. With Smedvig’s analysis and processing software, ResView, combined with ODIN's STORM (a rudimentary collection of tools for stochastic reservoir modelling) and Geomatic's IRAP reservoir modelling, IRAP RMS™ becomes a fully integrated 3D modelling suite, comprising 17 fully integrated software modules.
Versions
IRAP RMS™ 6.0
- Brings together STORM’s stochastic modelling as well as structure and fault modelling capabilities into a single workflow suite with a user-friendly interface suitable for the common geologist.
- Introduces Roxar’s Workflow Manager to the E&P operator. The Workflow Manager tool allows users to build and update reservoir models in minutes rather than hours and, through the use of powerful workflow templates, facilitates technology and skills transfer amongst users, increasing employee productivity.
IRAP RMS™ 7.0
- Significant upgrade to the user interface, moving to Windows from Unix, allows new modules to be incorporated seamlessly into Roxar’s Workflow Manager.
New modules
- RMSwellplan™ User friendly well planning tool
- RMSflowsim™ Flow simulation module. Integrates dynamic reservoir data with the static model
- RMSwellstrat™ Well correlation tool
- RMSfaultseal™ Multi-platform fault seal analysis solution
- FracPerm™ Fracture modelling in mainstream 3D modelling and simulation
RMS2009
- New user interface
- Improved structural modelling and data import
- Real time well monitoring
- New local model updates module
