The Bridge of Death is a bridge in the city of Prypiat, Ukraine. On the day of the Chernobyl disaster, the people of Prypiat gathered on the bridge to see the explosion. Because the nuclear reactor core was burning, they could see beautiful rainbow coloured flames, which came higher than the smoke of the explosion. By watching this, the people were all exposed to radiation levels of over 500 roentgens. Within a few weeks, all of these people died because of radiation poisoning.
