David Lichens (From Eugene, Oregon) is a singer/songwriter, producer, and singer of The Heavy Steadies Lichens is the son of a notable jazz guitarist, which exposed him to the music scene from an early age. His father taught him how to work the instruments and he developed his sense for music from there on.

Later, one of his demos caught the attention of EMI Publishing. After signing with EMI Publishing, Dave has had songs in films such as:

Waterhorse, legend of the deep; Saved; AfterSex; and Shes The Man

as well as tv shows: Everwood, Espn, The Cho Sho, American Idol,

Lichens' single "Let Go" was featured on the movie soundtrack "She's the Man."

Lichens has just finished producing Fefe Dobson's 3rd Lp, which he cowrote 5 songs on it as well and has also worked with former American Idol contestant and singer-songwriter Jason Castro.
