Porkkalam (or Poorkkalam; Template:Lang-ta; Template:Lang-en) is a forthcoming Indian Tamil feature film directed by debutant Bandi Saroj Kumar. Starring Kishore of Polladhavan and Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu fame, Tinnu Anand, who starred in Mani Ratnam's Nayagan and Bombay, comedy actor Sathyan and Smitha, a newcomer from Karnataka, in lead roles and seven artists as Villains, the film has musical score by noted composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by J. Mahendran. The film is in its production stage and expected to release in May 2009.

Production

Filming

The first schedule was shot in late 2008 in various places in Tamil Nadu including Dhanushkodi, Madurai, Tenkasi, Thiruchendur, Karaikudi and Rameswaram.

Follwing this, the film's second schedule was shot from October 13, 2008 to November 26, 2008 in the parts of Chennai and Pondicherry and in the Ramoji Film City, in Hyderabad, while in January 2009, the third and last schedule was shot in several places in Thailand. The director and producer are planning to release the film end of May 2009.
