Daniel Peter "Danny" Masterson (born March 13, 1976) is an American actor best known for his role as Steven Hyde in That '70s Show.
Early life
Masterson was born on Long Island, New York, the son of Carol (his manager) and Peter Masterson, a State Farm Insurance agent. The two divorced in 1984. He has a younger brother, Christopher Masterson, who portrayed the unruly Francis on Malcolm in the Middle and the character of Todd on That '70s Show. His other younger siblings are his younger paternal half-brother, Will Masterson (who attends the University of Southern California), a younger maternal half-brother Jordan Reaiche (pronounced Reesh), and a younger maternal half-sister named Alanna Reaiche (who is also an actress, appearing in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle and on Y&R as Colleen Cecile Carlton from 1994–1995). She has recently appeared on the ABC Family Show Episode 'GREEK' and just recently on the TV Series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Jordan and Alanna's dad Joe Reaiche raised Danny and his brother Chris when they were just kids. The families have grown up in professional environments and despite remarriages are still close.
Career
Masterson starred as Justin in Cybill, Jimmy Girvin in Roseanne, and has made several guest appearances on Punk'd and MADtv. He is a co-owner of Dolce, a restaurant he founded with That '70s Show co-stars Ashton Kutcher, and Wilmer Valderrama. He co-hosted the Fox TV special Woodstock 1999 with close friends and That '70s Show co-stars Kutcher and Valderrama.
Masterson also frequently DJs at Los Angeles night clubs under his name, DJ MomJeans, formerly DJ Donkey Punch. DJ viva la scam played a 2 hour set at the 2008 Lollapalooza festival in Chicago. Masterson also co-hosted, with local nightlife impressario Brent Bolthouse, a Monday night radio show titled Feel My Heat, on Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles, California. The show was canceled in October 2008. Masterson stars with his real-life fiance, Bijou Philips, in the 2009 drama The Bridge to Nowhere.
Personal life
Masterson was raised as a member of the Church of Scientology. He once said, "I have been acting since age 4. I have always been working and I have always been in Scientology my entire life. Each service in Scientology is something I have added to my toolbox of data for living." In December 2005, he helped promote the gala opening of Scientology's controversial "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death" museum.
He is engaged to fellow Scientologist Bijou Phillips; the couple have been dating since 2005.
