It has been suggested that this article be merged into Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. (Discuss) Proposed since February 2009.
This article is about the Maharishi concept. See Vedanga for the historical six disciplines of Vedic science.

Maharishi Vedic Science, or MVS, has been described as a "a complete science of consciousness and its expressions." The name is a trademark licensed to the Maharishi Vedic Education Development Corporation, and is based on Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's interpretation of the ancient Vedic texts, said to contain descriptions of the laws of nature responsible for governing the universe.

According to Maharishi, MVS describes a "universal intelligence" or universal law(s) of nature that administrate the entire universe including the human mind and body. Maharishi says the ability to directly experience this universal intelligence is available through the practice of the practical, mental aspect of Maharishi Vedic Science, the Transcendental Meditation technique, and the more advanced technique, the TM-Sidhi program.

Mahrishi Mahesh Yogi in defining MVS describes technologies that he believes benefit everyday life, and include:

  • Health
Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health (MVAH) (also known as Maharishi Ayurveda and Maharishi Vedic Medicine) was founded internationally in the mid 1980s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, creator of the Transcendental Meditation technique. Although Ayurveda has been in existence for centuries, Maharishi claims to have restored the purity of some aspects of this ancient system that had become distorted with time. This revised system of Ayurveda was endorsed by the All India Ayurvedic Congress in 1997. Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health is a so-called alternative medicine and aims at being a complementary system to exist alongside modern, western medicine. Practitioners of MVAH believe that it helps to restore balance in the physiology, eliminate toxins and impurities, and awaken the body's natural healing mechanisms.
  • Architecture
Maharishi Sthapatya Veda describes a mathematical system for the design and construction of buildings, according to Vedic principles, which takes into account three major factors: the orientation of the building, room placement, and the proper proportion of the buildings structural components. . Many of the primary principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda are based largely on the relationship of the building with the sun, because the sun is considered to be the most powerful natural influence on our planet. Aligned with the rising sun, an east-facing building would be considered most auspicious for the building’s inhabitants. North is also acceptable. South and West are considered to be the least auspicious directions for the orientation of a building.
  • Music
Maharishi Gandharva Veda is a form of classical Indian music described as having the ability to replicate the vibrational qualities of the laws of nature as they are expressed during phases of the 24 hour solar cycle.
  • Astrology
Maharishi Jyotish (also known as Maharishi Vedic Astrology) claims to be a system of prediction and evaluation the life tendencies of an individual. "Maharishi Yagya", a related program, of structured Vedic performances which are said to nuetralize the influence of oncoming problems when they are indicated in a persons astrological chart.
  • Agriculture
Maharishi Vedic Agriculture is a trademarked process for producing fresh, organic food in accordance with natural laws.
  • Education
Consciousness Based Education students are thought to expand the conscious capacity of their mind through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique while simultaneously studying Vedic Science and its relationship to the traditional educational disciplines.
