Bloomex has 2 divisions, Flowers Wholesale which offers flowers in bulk to the general population and Bloomex Wedding Flowers, where they have wedding consultants to help with wedding flower selections. Bloomex can deliver to almost 97% of the Canadian population. Bloomex is a supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society, where 10% of the proceeds of their Give Hope Collection is donated for cancer research.
The Bloomex head office is located in Ottawa, Ontario. It is a privately held company.
Controversy
Bloomex has been criticized by several consumer advocacy groups including the Ripoff Report, Canadian bargain hunting website Red Flag Deals, the Toronto Star's Ellen Roseman and the Better Business Bureau. Bloomex is criticized by these groups for poor service, poor quality flowers, late deliveries, and refusal to answer emails, correct problems, or provide refunds.
Roseman has been chronicling complaints against Bloomex since 2007 and worked with the company's PR agent for a short time to try to resolve problems. Roseman's best advice now is " instead of pursuing for a refund, which will just frustrate you, call your credit card issuer. It’s easy to get a chargeback when you can show you paid for services that were not rendered."
The Canadian Better Business Bureau gave Bloomex its lowest possible rating, an "F", due to the number of unresolved complaints and Bloomex's refusal to accept any further complaints through the BBB.
