recently you withdraw your afd nom for ] because "sources" were added. but really, they weren't. there are just a bunch of references now, that aren't sources. it looks like fluff, and the article is terribly written. are you sure that it's worthy of remaining? ] (]) 21:30, 26 May 2009 (UTC) |

Swap. My help for your advice!
TPH, I was wondering if I could offer you a swap? You point me in the direction of a new Country stub you need, and you can help me with an odd problem I have? I'll assume you say yes and write about my problem!
Puebla F.C. (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is a perfectly normal looking page, I'm not sure how I came across it, but I did. An editor was having a problem with an IP editor who keeps adding a whole chunk of information (doubles the page size from 13ish kb to 30+ kb) which is unsourced and poorly written, but could well be correct and useful. I've been watching the page for a few days now and seem to have taken over from the previous editor in reverting the additions, on the basis they are unsourced and might be OR. I have posted numerous messages on the IP's talk page 76.235.130.49 (talk · contribs) but can't get a response, and an RfC on the talk page has drawn zero attention. What steps should I take from here to look after this article, encourage the IP editor to play the wp game and generally make the place a bit nicer?! TIA, Bigger digger (talk) 23:41, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Following your assistance I've picked out an article and looked up some sources. Could you have a look at Talk:Billy Gilman#Sources and briefly comment on their suitability? Cheers, Bigger digger (talk) 21:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Make It Home
The information actually was in the link. Look under "Moods" on the left side.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 00:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- That doesn't count. It's still a directory listing and is trivial. No other article mentions the moods that Allmusic uses, and they shouldn't. There are no significant sources at all. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • 00:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- "In general, if the musician or ensemble that recorded an album is considered notable (which Dan Seals is), then officially released albums (which Make It Home is) may have sufficient notability to have individual articles on Misplaced Pages." (WP:NALBUMS) I feel the directories do verify the album's existence, and mentions in the press verify the album's notability. I don't understand why a "review" must exist to prove an album's notability. --Lost Fugitive (talk) 00:28, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Track lyrics and listings are not trivial information, neither are commentaries on the album's mood and style. The information about 1990 is to help explain the context of the album and that the performer was at the end of his career. I probably would've voted to keep the Collin Raye album, because I assume at the least the above information was available and it applies to the principle I quoted. --Lost Fugitive (talk) 00:49, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- You can't claim the article can't be expanded because it can, descriptions of the content can be added from track lyrics from CMT. And wikipedia is not a democracy, thankfully, and I don't believe the votes are a reflection of wikipedia policy. This isn't some garage band or a non-notable individual, its Dan Seals.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 01:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- By just explaining what the songs are about, and not going any further, like a synopsis.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 01:18, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Why? It's a legitimate use of a primary source.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 01:27, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- The cutoff should be at whether enough reliable sources exist to create an article that can be more than a track list. If the lyrics are available at a reliable source, and if the album is documented in several directories, then an article that is more than a track list can be created.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 04:39, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- This discussion has been included on the articles for deletion page.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 21:45, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Proposed Blackhawk (band) split
I did some measuring, and Blackhawk's page is long enough to split. They have had enough singles and albums, and their biography's long enough to split. Like i said, i did some measuring, and artist's pages such as Phil Vassar and Craig Morgan have been splitted, and this page (the biography) is about the same length, which is long enough to split. Would you agree or oppose this split? I already put it on the band article's talkpage, so you can comment there if you'd like. Ryanbstevens (talk) 02:18, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Help offered
After your advice above, I've offered to have a look at Billy Gilman. As requested above, but possibly missed by you, could you just quickly comment on the sources at Talk:Billy Gilman#Sources. I can write an article, and copyedit, but my confidence in country music reliable sources is not so good! Bigger digger (talk) 12:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Just curious why you think this community doesn't deserve an article, seeing that longstanding consensus has held that all communities are notable? Nyttend (talk) 18:23, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- I've made a policy-based argument at the AFD; would you please revisit it and respond, either by changing your vote or explaining why you continue to believe that it shouldn't remain a separate article? Nyttend (talk) 21:20, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Jeopardy! & Editor Assistance
If you'd like, since you've also made several good faith edits to the Jeopardy! article, please provide commentary here. Sottolacqua (talk) 23:38, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Let it be noted for the record that I object to the one-sided canvassing Sottolacqua is engaging in. Robert K S (talk) 23:59, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- "How is he canvassing?" Canvassing doesn't require him telling you what your opinion should be. (Such would be superfluous, since you agree with him, which is the very fact that led him to post the message to your talk page.) Canvassing is him notifying you and not, for example, me, or others who might productively contribute to the discussion. Instead, he has invited you so that you may buttress his position, which I think you've dutifully done. Robert K S (talk) 00:03, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- All that big stink and apparently no interest by either you or Sotto in discussing issues on Talk:Jeopardy!? BTW, even the pro-tagging essay WP:TAGGING states, "Any editor who sees a tag, but does not see any problem with the article, and who does not see any detailed complaint on the talk page, may remove the tag." I fixed the Stew Herrera WP:AFD for you. You forgot to include "subst:" in the formula when you first initiated the WP:AFD for Herrera and the "this article's entry" prompt was thus still red-linked. Yours, Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 12:03, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Music video screenshots
If i take a screenshot of a music video, despite me taking the pictures, does someone or something else own the copyrights to the screenshots? I was told about copyright licensing over the photos on "Goodbye Says It All", and i figured that since i took the images, it seemed like a misunderstanding. (Taking a music video screenshot of a computer or TV screen is the same as taking a picture of friends and/or family or an object, which a screen is, and the copyright images of friends and family pictures and objects would belong to the person who took them.) Got a reason why your wikistress levels are high, you do too much. Why not do as your dumb little buddies, me and Gorgy, do and not exceed your personal best in edit count each day. Wikistress here is low and we don't carry around Nerfbats masquerading as the occasionally lucky at being a cluebat cluebat 'cept in this case when I do but it knows it's a nerfbat. I get it, you have allll of the country music articles to tend to of the blue and redlink kind but us WikiSloths know no work ethic or responsiblities. We just sit around and make stupid jokes in edit summaries when we revert someone, it's easy, not soul-sucking and best of all... fun. Speedy deletion nomination of Sales and charts achievements for Mariah Carey
Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Sales and charts achievements for Mariah Carey, to Misplaced Pages. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - Normally I'd take offense to such a message and point out that I've had over four years experience as a Misplaced Pages editor (3 of which was as an Admin and Mediator), but I'm going to assume good faith and calmly inform you to be careful about how you approach and notify others. Do you know me? Do I seem like a vandal? Have I been known to post inappropriate pages on Misplaced Pages? Did you look to see if there were any other template messages that would have suited this particular situation? The page in question was constructed years ago, and has been modified dozens of time since then. Bitterblue
This is an example (already on the page, I didn't do anything to it except a lot of work around the page) of a Production Credits list more along the style that I think is cleaner. I worked on the Hide Your Heart album earlier (I think that's it), and I listed six or seven assistant engineers, four bassists, two trumpeteers, etc...and it looks messy. Bitterblue's layout looks much cleaner and I think needs to be strongly considered for inclusion in policies.

- After the (brief) discussion and the confirmation from IllaZilla, I'm going to start doing my listings in the fashion we've discussed. It might take a little more work, but if we're supposed to use small letters for the tasks in the project's listed format, it's not really that much more work. I still think my way is cleaner. =) CycloneGU (talk) 03:43, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Albums as section titles
I don't think it is best to use albums as section titles when describing a performer's career. Take for instance, Neal McCoy, great work on expanding the article but using the albums as section titles is confusing to readers who don't know all of the artist's albums and for those who want to read about a specific time in his career. Albums aren't everything in a musician's career, and using them makes the titles unnecessarily long. I prefer to use titles that label the career in as little words as possible, and/or use years. Let me know what you think about this.--Lost Fugitive (talk) 06:28, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Copyright Question
Thank you for responding! I do have credible sources. I am interning for the organization, and have used all of their official documents that I have used to create the page. Along with the official website, I have numerous articles on the organization. I have e-mailed wikipedia with the copyright form they asked to me released by the owner, but have not heard work back. I have looked through the NPOV but do not know how to change the information about the organization to work accordingly. I want to simply put up facts about the organization but don't know how to phrase it any different, as they are just facts. And, thanks again for all of your help thus far! This is my first time using wikipedia, and it's far more difficult than I thought! I definitely need all of the help I can get (: —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erika.boll (talk • contribs) 19:01, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
I looked through and took some things out. Is it okay to still include the method they use (its listed with bullets) and discuss the organization's current projects and progress? (Erika.boll (talk) 00:49, 26 May 2009 (UTC))

Thanks for fixing the AfD. My broadband connection died at much the time that Twinkle didn't complete. All happyish now, though. --Tagishsimon (talk) 19:07, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
ThankSpam
Thank you for participating in my "RecFA", which passed with a final tally of 153/39/22. There were issues raised regarding my adminship that I intend to cogitate upon, but I am grateful for the very many supportive comments I received and for the efforts of certain editors (Ceoil, Noroton and Lar especially) in responding to some issues. I wish to note how humbled I was when I read Buster7's support comment, although a fair majority gave me great pleasure. I would also note those whose opposes or neutral were based in process concerns and who otherwise commented kindly in regard to my record. ~~~~~ |
My mistake there
Yeah, I didn't realise articles and templates have a different procedure, I've only nominated for articles before. I've listed it under WP:TFD now, and I'll make the discussion more explicit. YeshuaDavid (talk) 22:13, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Please reconsider a deletion recommendation
TenPoundHammer...I see that you suggested deleting the Generation Jones article with the comment "Original research, insufficient sources". I assume you based that on the claims made by the editor who proposed this deletion. Since you appear to be a credible editor who generally makes fair edits, I respectfully ask you to take a second look at this. If you look at the actual references in this article, you'll find that the nominating editor completely misrepresented the truth about these references, and that in reality, this article is in no way based on original research, and that there are more than enough reliable published sources. Thank you for your consideration.TreadingWater (talk) 22:17, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
I'd ask that you reflect on my Response to the TreadingWaters comments as well and comments left on TreadingWaters talk page A. Yager (talk) 11:30, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

You really should not close nominations for deletion that you started as keep. Withdraw yes, but not keep. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:58, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
Infoboxes
Look...there's no need to be mean. I don't know how to add an Infobox, so I'm doing what I can, which, to be frank, others could do too. Second, someone completely ERASED my additions for Liv Kristine and Miguel Bose. I don't know who, but now I can't redo them.
I give up. Thanks for nothing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbrushfan (talk • contribs) 01:55, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Fourth Request
When closing TFDs, please place {{TfD top}} in the proper location (after the TfDlinks line). You have once again placed {{Tfd top}} in the wrong place, as shown at Misplaced Pages:Templates for deletion#Template:The Paradiso Girls. At this point, if you cannot follow this procedure, perhaps it is best you refrain from closing TFDs. JPG-GR (talk) 16:08, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for putting the boxes around that... I got momentarily distracted at work.---I'm Spartacus! 18:49, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Internet Relay Chat flood
recently you withdraw your afd nom for Internet Relay Chat flood because "sources" were added. but really, they weren't. there are just a bunch of references now, that aren't sources. it looks like fluff, and the article is terribly written. are you sure that it's worthy of remaining?
