Paul H. Carr (1935- ) BS, MIT, 1957, MS MIT, 1961, Ph. D. Brandies U, 1966, led the Component Technology of the Air Force Research Laboratory from 1967 to 1995. His 80 scientific papers and 10 patents, listed on his web page www.MirrorOfNature.org, have contributed to compact, low-cost filters and signal processing devices for radar, TV, and cell phones. He received a grant from the John Templeton Foundation for the philosophy course he taught at U Mass Lowell from 1998 to 2000. This inspired his book "Beauty in Science and Spirit," published by www.BeechRiverBooks.com in 2006. He is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a life member of the American Physical Society. He is co-editor of the Newsletter of New England Section of the American Physical Society.
