Arindam received his Post Graduate Diploma in Planning and Entrepreneurship from Rizvi college Mumbai in 1992 - a college founded and run by his father. His father guided the institute to give a Gold medal to Mr. Arindam Chaudhuri. He joined IIPM on completion of the course, where he is currently the Honorary Dean for Centre for Economic Research and Advanced Studies. In 2002, Arindam Chaudhuri founded the charity ''The Great Indian Dream Foundation''. It works in over three hundred villages in rural India to achieve its objectives of universal education and employment and eradicating poverty, according to its website.
IIPM and Arindam have regularly been part of various controversies. Most them involve misrepresentation of accreditation and placements. Over the years, IIPM has claimed to have placed students in some of the top companies around the world.<ref></ref>
