'''Vomito Negro''' is a ] ]/] ], founded in 1983 by Gin Devo and Guy Van Mieghem. The name is taken from ] and translates to ''black vomit'', which is the last stage of the disease ]. |

already took off way back in 1983, and over the past years they established a name for themselves as uncompromising aural architects, combining power with emotion, electro with vision.
is Latin for “black vomit”, a phenomenon that arises in the last stage of the disease yellow fever, when the patient throws up his putrefied intestines and ultimately dies. Macabre? One might consider Vomito Negro's interest in the darker side of the human condition as unhealthy, but in fact it’s fueled by a desire to cope with and to understand life (and consequently, death) as we know it. Vomito Negro handles their topics with grim sarcasm and/or penetrating personal involvement; under the surface however, they give way to a message of redemption, passion and purification.

From the start on, flexibility and diversity is one of Vomito Negro's major qualities. After only two more concerts Guy Van Mieghem sold his studio equipment and stopped all his musical activities since …
|

In 2008 decided the time was ripe to re-animate the sleeping beast Vomito Negro. After asking , who already was a member of Gin Devo's side project Pressure Control, to join the band, and some very succesfull live gigs, the duo is working hard on a new VOMITO NEGRO album that will be released towards the end of the year! Some of these new tracks like ‘Black Tie – White Shirt’ and ‘Darkmoon’ were already tested on the crowd of the WGT Festival (Leipzig,D), (Waregem, B) and the (Antwerp, B) with success!
|

After the release of ''Wake up'' in 1992, Van Mieghem was involved in a car accident where he broke his left arm, had eight open fractures, and completely shattered one of his wrists. Afterwards, the band went on hiatus due to Van Mieghem's inability to perform and they didn't release a new album until ''Fireball'' in 2002. |
