A joke prize, usually given in recogition of a terrible performance or a last-place finish. Booby prizes are sometimes coveted as an object of pride and humor. These are little or stupid prizes that are for losing people.
The most famous of Booby Prizes is the dustbin you get if you have Dusty Bin at the end of 3-2-1. The etymology may have something to do with a group of bird species known as boobies.
