Burn Notice

Added information about Bruce Campbell's new show "Burn Notice". Some information on it can be found on his official website. -TheGreatSaiyamanX

Nice try

"On the 22 March 2005, God of War, a video game for the Sony PlayStation 2 console was released. The game is an action-adventure game loosely based on Campbell biography, God of War was developed by Sony Computer Entertainment's Santa Monica division." Uh, I hate to say it...but, no...baleted!

I don't see why this was marked as unhelpful, I mean God of War Obviously wasn't based off Bruce Campbell's life. -Kung_fufo 05:45, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Random unsectioned commentary of unknown origin

"Campbell is best known for his starring role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy of horror/slapstick movies."

"Campbell is perhaps best known for his roles as the recurring character Aytolycus on the fantasy series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, but also had leading starring roles in the short-lived series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. and Jack of All Trades."

So, what is he best known for? Anym 01:20, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

An enormous chin. Easy enough to change one of the "bests" to "well"... -- Nunh-huh 01:25, 22 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Well, I think the article is saying that in MOVIES he's best known for being Ash, and in TV he's best known for being Auto-whoever.

What does this statement add: " His friends have been known to say that his head shots are the best in the industry, and that he is one of the greatest reverse actors in the business"? I'm sure my friends could say some great things about me, if you asked them. Maybe we should restrict such comments to more disinterested sources? -R. fiend 02:06, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Since no one cared to defend the phrasing above I've removed it. If someone thinks it's important and can find a way of saying something to the affect that isn't POV and silly go right ahead. -R. fiend 04:31, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Is there any way we could add that he was involved with the film, Running Time, which was an movie done in one take. And maybe something about the fact that his voice is almost as regonizable as his face/chin. He deems himself the person to give Spider-man his name and the only person to defeat him. Can we fit that in? Kidney Stone 13:30, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

The main picture.

Can we possibly find a worse photograph of the man? I doubt it. It's so dark that I can barely see him.

  • I have a shot from an Evil Dead where he's covered in fake blood and being strangled by a disembodied hand. Want it?
Pretty much anything's better than the current one. I can't tell if it is a picture of some organization (the huge plaque) or him.Kidney Stone 13:30, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
this is obviously better (http://en.wikipedia.org/Image:Bruce_campbell.jpg) Can it be used since its a PR shot circulated by the actor's PR team? Stuph 03:44, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
The issue is that you shouldn't use a copyrighted photo if a free alternative is available. It's arguable whether the current photo is even usable, as it seems like mostly a photo of a college seal with Bruce's head in the corner. I say be bold and switch it. --Aguerriero (talk) 14:35, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
well, that went over well.... Stuph 17:21, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Spidey narrator

Hey as well as playing in Spider-man 2, didn't the guy also narrate both games for spider man that were made after the movie? Heh he's really funny in those games ^^

Filmography, etc.

Was there a reason for the user Sean Black removing the entire filmography and associated information? No one seemed to notice or care, but it seems to constitute vandalism with no cited reason for the removal. This article needs attention as it is - I can't justify removing information that seems relevant to his career. If Sean doesn't respond and no one objects, I'm going to add it back in as it is consistent with other actor articles. Aguerriero 22:53, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

I re-did the filmography and added it - still needs a lot of work so if anyone wants to work on adding roles, please do. I am working on a lot of B-movie articles so I will be adding articles for Bruce's movies that are missing. Maybe someone can also make tables of Bruce's TV and video game credits. This took me a while so PLEASE do not just delete it without discussing. Aguerriero 17:14, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Wow, I did not even notice that filmography was missing. Thanks a bunch and you're right this article needs a lot of work Kidney Stone 17:51, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
I've been working on organizing the article into sections and adding more information. I re-added a photo that Sean Black removed some time ago, because I feel that it illustrates his "everyman" personality very well. If people think it shouldn't be there, feel free to revert. Aguerriero 20:48, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Aliens

It's not listed here but, I could have sworn I saw him in aliens. He was the guy at the begining who had the talking line when the salvage team found Ripley. Does anyone know anything about this or am i just deluded. Gilimonster 00:24, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

He's not credited, so I have no idea. So far we only have a "selected filmography" which means only his bigger roles are listed. Aguerriero (ţ) (ć) (ë) 02:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
This is something that has bugged me for a long time. Could swear its him as well; but he's not in the credited list, nor is the actor who played the part. He's never mentioned it, as far as I can research. Kuru 02:49, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Bubba Nosferatu

I notice that some info on Bubba Nosferatu was removed on the gorunds of being unsubstantiated. All I've got is a Q&A with Campbell (http://www.flipsidemovies.com/bubbahotepscreening.html - three years old), and the mention at the end of the Bubba Ho Tep film. Anyone heard anything on this project? jhealy 14 June 2006

A google search reveals tons of mentions, but I have yet to find something official that states it has been greenlighted. I will re-post the mention once I do. Aguerriero (talk) 18:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Trivia

I read somewhere that he lives in a renovated airplane. Anybody else know anything about this?

Not true, he lives in a house with his family.--SUIT 11:27, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Bruce Campbell DOES own a Boeing 727 that has been converted into a house. Milo rules (talk) 00:54, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I was reading a Philip K. Dick compilation published by Library of America, and the last line on the last (printed) page says "Designed by Bruce Campbell.", but what that refers to is unclear in context. The only thing I've been able to find out is that multiple Library of America volumes say that. I don't think it's referring to THE Bruce Campbell, but I don't know how to find out. Roastsnail (talk) 02:44, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Agent

Is it worth mentioning that his literary agent at one stage was John Hodgman? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.94.38.240 (talkcontribs)

Can you prove it? — RevRagnarok 00:28, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Ellen?

Why isn't his role on Ellen mentioned? It's a fairly major role, at least more so than a lot of his other TV roles mentioned here. He was in seven episodes, I believe.

Is he dead or not?

IRC recently pointed me towards this place, saying Bruce Campbell had died - however, there've been no news reports and no other pages I can find mention his death. There was a Bruce Campbell who died, but as seen here, it is not the same Campbell we know at all. --24.67.224.188 (talk) 01:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

As of right now, the Bruce Campbell for which this article is about is definitely alive. -- Quartermaster (talk) 12:49, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Links in filmography

Hi there! I didn't understand, why all filmography has no links? He made so many movies which seems to be seen in to E-wiki. So, there's any body having an idea on this? Cause I want to provide the links into filmography! as we as this link shown: Alien Apocalypse. Cheers,--Muddyb Blast Producer (talk) 05:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

American Christian

Bruce is in the American Christians category, but I can't find any sources online or in the article where he identifies himself as such. The closest thing I can find is www.adherents.com where Bruce is included in the list of Christian Scientists. However, his page only includes his name and a link back to the famous Christian Scientists page. It lacks sources that provide evidence for Bruce being a Christian Scientist. I recall a few times in his autobiography where he made reference to getting married in a church of some kind, but many people get married in churches simply out of tradition. It's been years since I read his book (and I don't own a copy) so maybe he makes reference to being a Christian in it, although I doubt it since I remember it being more about his professional life than his personal life. Can anyone come up with a good source for this category or should we remove it? Ash Loomis (talk) 18:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Thats easy. Get rid of it. Remember, Ash is for the humans, not the deadites. Teetotaler —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.68.22.207 (talk) 02:47, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
If Chins Could Kill mentions his mother as a Christian Scientist early on, when it's discussing his childhood up to the point where he began his career, but I don't believe he mentions his own beliefs in it. I have heard on fairly good authority from associates of his Bruce certainly considers himself a Christian, but I know of no written source to confirm that, so I'd axe it as a category for his article. I perhaps should clarify, I figure he probably, even almost certainly IS one, at least nominally, but, without a definitive source, it seems jumping the gun to add it as a category in his article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.178.96.149 (talk) 04:12, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

The Woods

I have recently seen a movie titled "the Woods" I didn't get the chance to find the date it was made.
Bruce Campbell places as a father of a young teenage girl who is sent off to a girl's boarding school,
taken over by evil trees.
He plays a moderately big part in this movie, having to be the one who rescues his daughter,
but I've notice that the actress, whom plays the role of his wife in the movie,
is named Emma Campbell. Could anyone tell me the relation she would have with him,
perhaps his sister-in-law or something?
Also I noticed that this movie is not mentioned in this article.
—Preceding unsigned comment added by Wyrmfoot (talkcontribs) 03:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

If they are related, it ain't close. IDMB has no mention of a blood relationship & lists Emma as coming from Canada. There are tons of Campbells in Canada and the Northeast, descending from the Scot-Irish who settled there. It's a VERY common surname. Here's the IMDB link to the film you are talking about: The Woods 2006. Hope that helps. LiPollis (talk) 01:41, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Old Spice

His work in Old Spice commercials should be mentioned. They are of some significance in his career, at least as much as his work with Starbucks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.166.232.29 (talk) 20:28, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I added a sentence on this, but feel free to expand. DFS (talk) 21:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Does he actually say "still the same old shit" in any of the commercials?

Deadlands: The Weird West

A friend of mine told me that he played a major character (a bad guy at that) in a LARP of the role-playing game Deadlands: The Wierd West. Can someone confirm this? I do know he did a foreword in the players guide.
